I installed the latest Monkey's input plugin, v.1.30. The next time I tried to play some Musepack files using the MPEG plugin v.1.14, which I often do, QCD crashed, repeatedly. So I deleted the Monkey's plugin. Then everything was fine. What's going on? I had the last version of the Monkey's plugin installed previously and never had any problems; nor were there any problems on this occasion other than with playing Musepack files. Many thanks to anyone who can shed light on this mystery!

XP. I take it you think this affects the issue in some way?

It's probably one file in particular that is causing the crash. If you can determine which file it is, send it to me so I can test for the problem.

Sorry, I have no idea how to find out which file it is. As far as I can see the only two files involved are the .dlls for the two plugins.

Load one music file at a time until it crashes (or do whatever you did before to cause the crash, only do it one music file at a time). The one that causes the crash is the offending file.

If all music files cause a crash, that's a different story.

Paul - I was about to follow your suggestion, but now the problem has mysteriously vanished! I had six crashes one after another earlier today!
