Hey dudes, I was wondering who among us listens to radio stations on the internet. I surely do. In fact, quite a lot. The most frequent radio station i tune into is (of course) www.digitallyimported.com. They have a lot to offer at good quality and for free. And besides, im a trance addict ;) :skull:

It use to be a local station until they decided that it would cost to much to broadcast it anymore(and plus they were told it had to do with copyright crap, that is why it would cost to much)other than that i don't listen to any radio stations online.I usually just crank up the home theatre system to jam the radio.

i have 56k dialup so i can't really ,
but if i could i'd listen to new zealands
pioneer premier student radio station bfm (http://www.95bfm.com/livefeed.php).
if you click on the "b (http://www.95bfm.com/livefeed.php)" you will discover
one possible flaw with this sites streaming...

if I listen I tune into my webhosts station, broadcasts music by bands (usually local or up and coming) hosted on their servers who want some airtime.

A variety of artists/genres, not a great deal of artists in the playlist at the moment but more interest being shown.

Occasionally, for nostalgic purposes, I listen to http://www.scenemusic.net.

On Shoutcast, I choose between StreamingSoundtracks.com, most oldies stations ( can WE say 50's and 60's child?) and any Chinese or Japanese music.

I never listen to radiostations on the web since I don't like it when it buffers all the time. I am pretty satisfied listening to my mp3's and CD's.

Auckland (New Zealand) Radio Station
http://www.georgefm.co.nz
Fairly upbeat and funky with a leaning towards House music
The website is really shockwave heavy but looking through the html source the stream can be found on:
http://www.ihug.co.nz/dive/music/streams/george.m3u
Also Cool Blue is pretty good for Jazz although I haven't tried the streaming version yet. It used to be on FM radio in New Zealand but thats been stopped. The online version is still about.

I've found a very good stream on the i-net lately. Its mostly popular rock / pop music, but i mean the good stuff like Muse, Coldplay, the Verve, Moby, Depeche mode you name it! Thankfully there is no rap music. Go here to get the playlist: www.frequence3.org
ps There is some French commentary, but what the hell, this is a french stream live from Paris

Here is a link to ID&T radio i listen to quite often:
http://www.id-t.com/idtradio.php
I could only get it to work in IE because it wants to use windows mediaplayer, but when it is loaded you can click on a button to sent the playlist to qcd (if qcd is your default media player).
ID&T radio is the dutch trance radio station where all the major events are broadcasted (like recently DJ Tiesto in the Gelredome in Arnhem). Other music is also broadcasted.

Triple-J, run by the Australian state broadcaster ABC. Best morning show and music (mostly Australian, I suppose if it were categorised it would be "alternative"). By far the best radio station I've ever listened to, and proof that sometimes state-sponsored media can work very well.
Todd The Kiwi as a bfm man you'd probably enjoy this one, when I lived in Auckland that was my fave too.

I personally listen to Virgin Classic Rock, the best rock from the last 4 decades. One of the best things about this particular station is that it streams in almost every format out there and are open to suggestions about other formats you'd like them to stream in. http://www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen/streams.html is a list of all the possible strames they do for all three virgin stations. Classic Rock is streamed in WMA (20k and 64k), Real Player (8k - 32k), AAC (128k), iTunes ? (32k and 128k), MP3 (32k and 128k) and OGG (~32k, ~96k and ~160k). I know the OGG is streamed in VBR but not sure about the rest.

Skyfire 104.7fm (http://www.1047.com.au/pages/index.asp), Canberra's #1 radio station.
I dont listen to it but they do organise yearly fireworks and gig (couple weeks ago). Ironically, it's so popular that it's easily the most crowded event in Canberra whereas with New Year's Eve this place is a ghost town
