The past couple days have been one of the most frustrating 'news' days in a long time. The media is so bent on relaying information of the utmost unimportance.

Why is everyone so upset about Janet Jackson's boob shot at the super bowl? Is it going to dement our minds? How about the rest of the news which shows graphic images of war, violence and death, that's not going to affect us in a negative way is it? So show it, and show it often. Death ok, boobs bad. This seems incredibly backwards.

American's have to relax. There is a lot worse then a boob.. and its already on TV.

some comments about it:
"The show was offensive, inappropriate and embarrassing to us and our fans."

'Jan LaRue, chief counsel for the conservative Concerned Women for America group, called it a "pornographic show".'

'Mr Powell said he had ordered a "thorough and swift" investigation.'
-- hopefully the WMD investigation will get the same treatment. ( That's not Colin Powell btw ) --

EDIT: I found a great news article that calmed my rage. http://www.canada.com/vancouver/theprovince/news/entertainment/story.html?id=e2795ee6-0d22-4094-9eec-034fd79f4967

well... its only one boob...

by the way :
in some austrian commercials we sometimes see 2 !!! Boobs at the Same time !
(Commercial for a Shampoo or a Shower-Gel, etc.)

holy shit... dont "we" have other Problems then (Janet's) Boobs ?! O_o
War, Famine, Poverty, Misery, incurable Disease', etc. etc...

*shakes.head*

I personally would have liked to seen them both(not just one),but anyway don't you guy's know that a boob is much more deadlier and more graphical disturbing than War, Famine, Poverty, Misery, incurable Disease's? Ha Ha Ha
I don't see what the big stink is over this(a boob ,i better go and see a psychiatrist now my life is going to be all f'd up).Matt you are right it is incredibly backwards and for the people who found it offensive, inappropriate and embarrassing you have something wrong with you!

No, this was in America, where they'd prefer to see people getting shot at, or killed, with lots of bleeding, dying, and "good guys" killing everyone...
It makes them feel patriotic...
If I had children, I'd prefer them to see two people "tastefully" making love than graphic violence that involves one person killing someone else...

Boy, how qcd has changed! Seems like it has turned into just a bunch of America hating, uncivililized bunch of drunks that could cure less how many people they offend instead of a group of people dedicated to the development of one of the finest music players anywhere. Definely not something that I want to have a part in. Best wishes!

omg...

"we" dont hate America or even Americans
but its kinda "funny" what a Boob can do, if ya show it @ the SuperBowl-Finals...

if you show the dead Body's of Saddam Hussein's Children on TV, its okay !
"YEAH, WE GOT THOSE BASTARDS !!!!"

but if there's a Boob on TV
"OH MY GOD ! A BOOB ! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

however...

Ha HA Ha I'm from the U.S and i think this is all funny and in good nature. For one thing this is the general discussion forum where people can talk about whatever they want, there are other forums here that are dedicated to the development of QCD if you would take the time to look.Sure there has been a lot of talk about the U.S.(notice not americans in general just certain ones).Without the veiw points of people from other countries we are just stuck with all the propaganda that only our government wants us to think and believe,if that's what you want then man you go right ahead. And for all us drunks let's drink some more
:beer::beer::beer:.:laugh:

P.S. Not once have I read someone's post that said that they hate America and/or Americans, there are some(Americans) that are or have been making some stupid mistakes or some pathetic excuses, but the whole country or nationality can't be blamed for these individuals.

But the majority voted for one of those "not so popular outside USA" persons... ;)

Anyway, it's a little difficult for me to see how a discussion like this has any thing to do with QCD! I guess the ones that are offended by this discussion are the same people that blew this whole boob deal out of proportion.

is the superbowl rated? i'm thinking it would be rated G, which would mean nudity is not allowed. so a naked breast would be "out of bounds." if we let that slide, what else are we gonna let slide? sure, keeping people dressed on TV isn't gonna solve war problems, hunger, etc. but at least people would be dressed when they are supposed to be. it's not like people got any kind of warning that they should change the channel if their kids are watching or something.

janet says there was "a decision to have a costume reveal" so it was definitely not an accident. justin tries to say it was "unintentional," but what is he holding in his hand (no, not the mic, his OTHER hand)... a pull-away breast cup? looks like he somehow knew about the "decision" to me.

I have no doubt it was planned. Look at the publicity she is getting... you can't pay for such good publicity. Doesn't she have a new album coming out soon?

hmm, well timed.

I've never seen anybody "hating" US citizens either. Touch of paranoia there, methinks.

Yes, certain US citizens have been making themselves rather unpopular i.e. Rumsfeld , Perlman :skull:, Bush :carrot:, (sorry, that's as close to a cabbage as I could find).

Yes, US citizens may have voted for these self-serving morons, but as long as their foreign policy impacts on free-thinking populations around the world, you can't seriously expect us to say nothing. Or would you cite the Patriot Act in defence?

Wow, that was heavy! Think I'll finish off that beer now. Only three to go

That's better. Peace to all

Sorry, forgot about J J.

As A soccer fan, I'm afraid that boob would have been the highlight for me.

At least it made it on to prime-time TV here in Scotland.

That's a first for the Supperbowl.

'night all. :ninja:

http://beta.quinnware.com/forum/images/emots/skull.gif Perlman? Do you mean Richard Perle? (or am I being a dope here and forgetting something obvious?)
http://beta.quinnware.com/forum/images/emots/carrot.gif Sigh... sometimes I think we'd be better off electing cabbages...

Yes, US citizens may have voted for these self-serving morons ... Well, erm, most of us actually didn't. Whatever one may think of the circus in Florida, the fact remains that Bush did not receive the greatest number of votes. (Out of those of us who bothered to vote that is. The U.S. has pretty much the lowest voter turnout for any country in North America or Western Europe except Switzerland...- anyone know what's up with Switzerland...? - and the 2000 election was even lower than usual.)

... Or would you cite the Patriot Act in defence? Mostly I would cite it as a cause of nightmares (both sleeping and waking)...

Er, ok, I'll shut up now...:cyclops:
And now back to your regular QCD forum...

And on the subject of J J's booby, well the tit was covered after all... so technically it could get around the G classification...
And anyway, it is just a boob, i agree with you other guys, some people have their priorities well and truly mixed up. :disappoin

No you're not a dope, it was my mistake  It's Perlman :skull: You shouldn't have given that bugger a passport. Would you leave him with your kids? Not me, that's for sure.

Actually, I'm kind of chuffed that I can't remember his name :scared:

Elsewhere on this site people have been posting links to alternative smilies. How do I use these in posts? If you know how to do this would you or anybody be so kind as to tell me how to go about this?

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to this kind of thing. :depressed

About the boob:
Well, wars and diseases really aren't news today, but showing a boob in front of billion people, that doesn't happen every day. And in some photo I saw about the situation, Janet looked very shamed, so I think it was accident. And how an accident can be thought offensive?

About Switzerland:
They have a very special kind of democracy there. In fact they have the only system that deserves the title democracy, if you ask me. Though, I don't know the details, but still. People there vote directly about laws etc. and not a few people who then decide everything.

if you're gonna go after technicalities, it wasn't completely covered if you look at the closeup

so anyway, i thought the big problem was that this was being discussed too much... why are we discussing it instead of solving world hunger, war, etc.?

is bush any worse than any of the other presidents we've had? anyone can paste a head on a chimp picture, i've seen quite a few clinton-ape bodies. this discussion has quite sunk into the mud and doesn't have much to do with solving anything at all. but i suppose complaining makes you feel better.... at least for a minute or two

yeah, USA is NOT a democracy as many people incorrectly think. it's a deomcratic REPUBLIC. but a democracy is not necessarily the best type of government. we would all spend our whole lives voting if it was a true democracy.
