Font question

I'd like some input as to which fonts skinners use for the clearest very small text, as on control buttons, etc. Suggestions?

the system font works pretty well
tahoma and verdana would also be good, but they might be a bit wide if you're trying to fit something in a small space

there are some others that i've noticed work at small sizes, but they aren't free. i don't remember at the moment what they were called.

the 04b_ series has always been a good one. or try a search for "pixel fonts".
