Shao Hao has fixed the timer display in his latest update to the ASIO playback plugin - many thanks indeed, maestro!
PS. Heaven knows why, but the plugin now behaves much better with streaming audio on my system than it did before - I can even use it with real audio, which I couldn't previously. Hooray!
PPS. I spoke too soon - after a short period of bliss, the same old problems with streaming audio have reasserted themselves. I'll never understand the mysteries of ASIO technology!

CPU usage is still around 50% for me using Audigy 1 w/A2 drivers. And it won't work unless I activate resampling. I think if the plug-in could let be bypass the resampling, I would get lower cpu usage...

As a Audigy 2 user, I can speak by experience/knowledge that you can't bypass resampling with asio because Creative DAC are set at 48000 Hz. Even the A2, who can operate at 24/96 without EAX effects, is fixed at 48k Hz when it use EAX.
In short, Creative product can't process 41k Hz without resampling. The only difference with ASIO is that you do the processing by software (involving your CPU) instead of letting the card making his *own* hardware resampling. It's supposed to make a better job but the difference are only noticable with *some* setups/ears...;)

To cut it even shorter:
Buy Better (non-Creative) Hardware. :)

Wasn't expecting anything different from you Roj...! Wisdom words as usual.
If only the Revo could have more in/out plugs (Like Coax and Optical), then I would have no more reasons to keep my A2 Platinum...

Well, there's always Philips - I hear they have a new 24/192 card in beta. In its day the Acoustic Edge trounced the Live for audio quality so maybe this one will add itself to the list of Audigy 2x killers, at least from an audio quality perspective (Terratec, M-Audio and AudioTrak are already there).
Hmmm - come to think of it you might want to check out the AudioTrak Prodigy 7.1:

I also experience cut-offs near the end of each song. Is this also a Creative related bug?

Shaohao has updated the asio plug-in to version 0.41c/0.40 -- when you install the plug-in, it creates 2 entrys in QCD playback plug-ins.
1 - dll version v.0.40c
2 - exe version v.0.41c
Which one should we use? Both work on my system and I was wondering what advantage one had over the other one? Can anyone enlighten me on the pros and cons of each one? Thanks very much!

Same query here, although unfortunately those of us who keep posing queries regarding ASIO haven't had much luck in getting answers up to now. Either there aren't any ASIO experts taking part in the forum, or if there are, they prefer not to join in this particular topic.

I just tried the latest ASIO version with B70, and I get bad distortion when using both the exe and the dll version.

On another note, Otachan has recently released version 1.18y ot61c of his Mpg123 decoder plugin and the most interesting changes is REPLAYGAIN support...!
So, I think it would be very cool if you could also update this plugin, as replaygain (http://replaygain.hydrogenaudio.org/) is really practical in order to normalize our music collection (Personnally I use Foobar2000 *only* to scan all my files and calculate replaygain values.) Off course, if you have the time and motivation. Time goes out so fast...
Plugin & Source always available at Otachan Decoder Page (http://www3.cypress.ne.jp/otachan/in_mpg123.html).
Keep up good development on your plugins!

That also has the additional advantage of solving the problem conclusively for hardware devices (portable players, car decks, set top DVD players) where ReplayGain will *never* hold sway.

So far both files are working fine for me.
winxp home edition
rev.7.1 with latest driver .0051
maybe you need to try to reinstall?

Try "Winamp Input plug-in Manager", this mpg123 plug-in has become more complex than ever to rewrite it for QCD.

Yeah, I've seen this solution before... By checking quickly, I was sure that this was similar to ReplayGain but I just saw that the changes are directly on the volume level and not only in a tag.
This is very good since, as you said, I really don't see hardware support for ReplayGain!
Thanks for reminding me of this good alternative! But I'll do some test cause I'm not sure if I'm ready to ditch my beloved Octimax DSP... :knocked-o

Try development build 72 - make sure you delete the skinpref file in your QCD folder as this has been causing some problems with this build - install the "Winamp input plug-in manager from the plug-in section first - then go to http://www.rarewares.org and get the mad bundle v0.151b from the mp3 section and extract the in_mad.dll from this zip file to a folder named WA_Plugins in the QCD plug-ins folder (you may have to create this folder). Then go to the input plug-ins options and the configeration for the Winamp plug-in is in there. Also do some checking to make sure you have your plug-ins set up right. I use the mad input plug-in with the asio out-put plug-in and since I up-graded to build 72, it has been playing great. I have the mad plugin set to 24 bit. Before I up-graded to build 72, I had the same problem you are having(no sound) a few times and I would have to play around with the settings - sometimes changing mad back to 16 bit - before I could get it to work.
Also make sure you are not using ishuffle with the resumer plug-in as this will cause a conflick. Hope this helps
