How do I play realmedia files

Hello I have downloaded the qcd video plugin and the real codec zip file and also the real media splitter file that was recommended. Now I need to know how to go about getting the three together to play the real media files. I am new to computers so as much detail as you can give would be greatly appreciated. I have windows XP....Thanks for your help.
