This subject always comes into my mind.(esp when I think of a skin for ladies,if possible.)We're trying to build a community around here but I don't beleive there are ANY ladies among us.

QCD4 - A Man's Player Of Choice!Come to The Community and grab a Beer!

I mean,I don't know how these things can ever take the interest of a woman, maybe only some ladies in design schools and such, and they ARE really talented, you know?I would die to see a cartoonish or deco style skinning coming out of a lady's hands and imagination.

shame on us..but on the other hand I will not take the whole responsibility on myself. When it comes to pc's,they have strict and impossible to determine tastes, which comes to: SOME things don't take their interest.Have you ever seen a girl using Reshacker,Windows Administrative Tools,Defragment,Bios,Regedit,Divx encoding settings,..(Ofcourse there are exceptions but think in general, what I try to say is these are not man/muscle jobs)And a skinning community, plugin developement,community..whoo,sorry,too far beyond.

So here are the questions:
What's the problem?
What does a Femme-PC look like?

(What a girl wants what a girl needs.)

Ladies in general aren't hardcore computer users. Most of them, (but not by any means all) only do with computers what they are meant to. If they want to write an email, they write the email. If they want to do some finances they open Quickbooks or Excel, then they shut down the computer.

Some others are just interested in chatting or well... hmmm chatting, you get my point right?

I know quite some of them as a graphics design student that are able to create excellent designs without even knowing the names or the versions of the programs they use for it!

However, skin design by a female... that would be a nice thing to see. I just hope the QCD comunity grows enough to see more women involved.

Sadly, Women don't tend to use computers as much as men. I'm a member of another Forum, MozillaZine, and out of 20,000 users we have about 200-300 females...
That's an estimate using a poll we once conducted...

That's pathetic. As a computer-literate woman who isn't fat, nor nerdy, nor gross in othersuch ways, I would like to say that I really like computers. They're helpful. And fun. And ... yeah. Woo!

Visit the WinCustomize website and you will see some fine WindowBlinds and other skins by women artists; so it can't be a question of women not being interested in how things look on their screens. But it would certainly be very welcome if more women visited us here. I wonder what's happened to Connie? She hit the forums like a tornado but has now moved on, it would seem.
