I've made my first skin for QCD and made it available from my site for download. It's nothing fancy, but who better to let know if I've done anything incorrectly than the members of the QCD forum?! :)

If I've done this post correctly, there is a screenshot attached here (it's smaller than actual size to comply with the forum restriction) and a link to the page you can get the skin from. Enjoy :)

Todd The Kiwi - Thanks. A Perfect Circle are cool ;)

t_journeyman - Sorry, no. This skin is made in the same fashion as several other skins that are all orange. Plus, currently, the option to make available other colours etc is too advanced for my QCD skinning skills. Currently that is ;)

Zayoos - I'm simple and it's my first attempt ;)

Xymantix - Thanks. This is definately the coolest media player since Sonique 1 hey!?! ;)

Young Twig - Thanks. Give me time though. I'm slower than I used to be ;)

Smileys disables because apparently I use too many :)

I agree with everybody that it looks awesome... extremely well done!

If you modify it more, I think it could be a little less visualization-oriented - being able to "close" the visualization area would be nice.

And the playlist font is somewhat hard to read.

Sorry for those who have already downloaded the skin, but I just posted an updated version because I just discovered you can skin the external visual window etc... :)

chicubs - It's only because I'm still discovering things like this that I haven't uploaded the skin here too.

greatfujimori - I'll try and keep that in mind for my next skin. But I grew up using Sonique 1 and am addicted to visualisations :D

Thanks to everyone else too for the kind comments so far.

That is a very nice skin and I'm sure this is the first one of many more to come !

I would like to know how long did it take you to create it? I'm asking because I have an almost finished design for a skin, but I'm still missing the maps and stuff, so I would like to have a reference. Yeah, I know my skin took forever to create but someday I'll release it. :D

Hanzo - I couldn't give you a good answer to that as I created the skin over a period of about a month as I created other skins for other applications. And I'm still making new similar styled skins now. The BorderSet image though took me a couple of hours this morning to learn and add to the skin. The playlist also took another couple of hours the other night.

I'll time myself next time though as it'd be interesting to know. I have an older skin I made for a different media application that I want to convert to QCD. I'll be faster next time too I hope :)

for getting different colors, just make multiple skin kids and put them in a zip file together (with .qsf extension). then you'll need an .ini file in the zip also. see the skin documentation for more details, but it's not that complicated, really.

also, you might save some time on the buttons with the QCD skin tool

drewkeller - Thanks. I've downloaded the skin tool and will try on my next skin. I've had a go at making a skin with multiple colours too. You can find out more here (http://www.quinnware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=850).

Hanzo - I can now tell you that my second skin took me 3 hours and 42 minutes to put together (the original graphics having already been made ;)). I did spend a bit of time learning new tricks still as well. I hope that gives you an idea though.
