MMD3 B68+ Skin: New Colours!

Hey. Paul previously posted my MMD3 skin that I used to test the new builds. I actually created two skins with 8 colours total. Here is a link to the new colours and a link to the old one just incase you never got it.

I was wondering whether there would be a better way to implement the resizable playlist... The top part doesn't look too good IMO. (See screenshot)

that was a bug in QCD. That will be fixed in the next dev release.

Well, you can only have 9 modes for a skin. And in this skin, two are used for each color (winshade & full mode). So, you can only put 4 full color themes in them.

Matt, silver sounds good. Also, a nice light blue kind of "ice" theme. oooh.

Young has it perfect.. 8modes. 2 for each colour.

an ICE theme would be cool.. unfortunately I'm not liking Ice much these days considering there is so much of it outside my window.

On the playlist's playback controls, the "next track" button is backwards.... you can see it on the screenshot posted by Tokelil...

I'd also like to see an ice and/or silver modes.

Can we get an Blue / Teal / Aqua combination... well "ice" as Young Twig suggested. I just like blue... :D

I installed the pink version of MMD for a couple of females I know and man you had to see that, those girls will never use something else to play music on her computers.:p

Just a little thing. When the player ain't playing, the total time is displayed, right? Well, it is being displayed, but it gets cut off. I attached screenshot.

One little quibble: when I tried to chase the links to download these skins, Netscape (7.1) tried to open the skin as a page, so I got an eyefull of gobbledygook. I had to resort to Infernal Excrement to get them. Any ideas? I have the same problem trying to view .wmv files, even though I've told Netscape what to do with them. Thanks. ;)

I tried that: it offered to save "downloader.php". It must be something in my Netscape preferences, but I'm damned if I can figure out what. :rolleyes:

Great stuff. Is there a way to get the playlist text to be anti-aliased as it is in some other skins? Also, what do you think about making the time font thinner to fit hours (at least single-digit ones)? Not as thin as the title text, necessarily, but maybe a bit thinner?

Well, this skin is looking totally awesame. Excelent design, cool and :normal: options!
Some coments:

About playtime slider: the solution used here to place the slider somewere in the SHADE mode is better than MMD3, but I still think that the better place to put it is on the little plain section that falls under the right corner, that is there without any useful function :P

About playlist on SHADE mode: dunno if you're thinking of made some custom playlist for this mode, but if your plan is to use the same, is better to have separate placement locations for each mode, because every time I swith to SHADE, the playlist is left "hanging" in middle of the screen. ;)

I've been a long fan of the MMD skin, but now I saw this skin, and I'm sold. This is the one I'll be using... Still have to choose between black and teal as default color ;-)

A thing I noticed was the playlist wasn't intergrated into the shade mode like with the previous version. Just the EQ is. Maybe in the next one, you could intergrate it.

An integrated PL would be cool. I did just notice a little bug that I wanted to bring to the author's attention. My screen res is 1024x768, and in the shade mode, the numbers of the seconds get cut off when time goes over an hour. They get cut off behind the area where the sound bars are.

No way at all? I dunno, I know nothing about the actual skinning, but couldn't the area in question be widened a little to allow the entire time display to be viewed properly? Please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Much as I love the QMPexp(2) skin in purple, I have one beef with it. In b74 and now in b76, I cannot get visualizations to display. This is not a big deal, as QCD usually runs minimized, but when it's up front I like to see the Meterzpak VU dancing on my screen. What bugs me most is that it's only exp(2) that has this flaw; the original exp works perfectly. Also, everything was fine in b75. Matt, please tell me that there is a solution! The green is lovely, but I like my purple! Thanks for all your hard work both on skins and on the site. :heart:

You've got me confused. There is no plugin vis area on QMPexp 1 & 2. Maybe you're mistaking MeterzPak for the skinned resonator vis's?

You may be correct, Paul. I did not realize that the built in visualizations were different from the ones on the default skin. Since Meterzpak is the only vis plugin I have enabled, I assumed that that was what I was seeing. In any event, there are no visualizations working in QMexp(2) under b74 or b76, but there were under b75. QMexp (original) has worked under all 3.

I don't have that problem. If you're using Build74 up, you can save the position of individual skins and name it whatever you want ;)

yeah, i tried that (i was on build 78).. oh well, new version out, so lets see if its still happening

oh yeah, another comment i'd like to make.. the cool looking font doesnt support international characters, does it? Tiësto comes out Ti sto, and my chinese titles aren't showing up.
