View Full Version : Question for Acozz

I think it is your plugin, Acozz, but I can't be sure.
My question is in regards to the Cover Art Displayer for QCD. When I use a URL as the image source, it will only show up in the media browser, but not in the visualization window. Instead I just get the no cover art display. It would be great to be able to get the image to show up there, just so that I don't have to save every album cover to my hard drive.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm rewriting that plugin from scratch. You should already be able to do what you suggested, though. It works for me. When I'm done rewriting it, it should be a lot easier to use URL images though.

Do you have a proxy?

Not that I know of. What is a proxy anyway? I am kind of dumb with things of that nature. I am connected through a router in my house. Would that have anything to do with it?
I am using the QCD Media Player Skin...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
PS: I am using amazon's cover images if that means anything???

Alright, I was able to figure out the problem. It's a long story, but don't worry about it.
I just realized how long my collection is, and how long it would take me to get the album right for each and every song. It would take me days and days...
Is this new version you're working on going to have the ability to read art work from the tag of the file? Like how media player attaches cover art? That would be sweet! That way I wouldn't have to put in the effort. I could just wait for the new plugin to be done.
What kind of time frame do you think you're working on?
Thanks again.

I plan on being able to read from the tag to get the cover info as well as the other methods.
I don't see how it would take so long to do all your songs, as you only have to add one entry into the image list for each album, not song.
Time frame: Well, I'm going back to school tomorrow, but I'm going to stay determined to do this. I'll give a better time frame in a few days. I'll be working on it all today though.
Hopefully, this new version I'm working on makes it easier for everybody.

What program do you use to add cover art to your files? I need to use one to test.

The reason that it would take me a really long time is that I am very sloppy with my music to begin with. You know how you get the jack asses that put the album name as "RIPPED BY STEWART 01/03/03" ?? Well, I never really bother to change that, so I have a lot of songs that have either no album name or the wrong album name. I also have A LOT of music, so I would first have to edit all of the tags and then add the cover art. It would be a very tedious process there's no doubt. Any suggestions on multi-tag editors out there?
For now I just use WMP9 to get the cover art. It seems to be the fastest way. If there are other options, by all means let me know because I like to stay as far away from WMP9 as possible.
The plugin is awesome and by far my favourite available for QCD. Just so you know that you have some huge support in your corner on the new version. Expecially from those of us with sloppy collections. ;)
Cheers.
PS: let's hope you're like me when I make a website. I start working on it, and I just don't stop until it's done. heeheehee.

Any news? I am waiting very (im)patiently! If you need any help, or a tester or whatever it is you plugin makers need, just let me know.
Itching, I say. Itching.

I need to add all the dialogs for the configuration and make them work. Mainly grunt work. I'll work on it in a few days, as I'm just back at school. After that I'll probably release a beta on the forums for testing.

Well I can only really work on it on Fridays and weekends. So that's what I'll do until I finish.
