The Big Bang, the ultimate hero of low frequency.
A devine, intergalactical bass drum,
Connecting the tribes of our Solar System.

If we could communicate,
From our tiny piece of solar driftwood.
Into another galaxy, what would we say?

We can send out pictures, symbols,
Chemical formulas or language.

The magic of music is a sign of consciousness,
That could be understood on far flung worlds.
Millions of light years from our horizon.

Music is an interstellar language from a highly insignificant planet,
One of nine in our system, which sails through time and space.
Until the next one, the next... inevitable... Big... Bang.

I wish I could claim to be the originator, but sadly it's not mine. Thank a band called Yello (a Swiss band - sorry Swt) for that one. It's one of many spoken intros they do. It's from an album called Pocket Universe. Superb.

I dont get it :( The concept of music send into space doesn't make sense. Sound, as i know it, is made from compressional waves, it needs a medium to travel thru. You can send pulses or electromagnetic waves (eg light, radio, micro waves) into space though. Those are made up from transverse waves and dont need a medium to flow though.

I guess this band isnt very concerned with physics :) Good stuff nevertheless

The age of science has failed to explain our universe in rational terms.

Consequently the power of magic has gradually emerged from our conscious minds to fathom the unfathomable.

Our most distinguished scientists reluctantly admit, that mankind is nothing but some billion creatures, sitting on a piece of solar driftwood floating in space.

Magic is the art of influencing the cause of events by the intervention of spiritual forces or some other occult device.

According to arthur c. clarke any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Early civilization often mistook the unexplainable world around them to be magic.

Rupert sheldrake in his book "seven experiments that could change the world" has stated that scientist’s attitude toward their experiments affect the results of their experiments.

There is no such thing as a definite fact in science and therefore the irrationality of magic plays an important part in our rational world.

Werner heisenberg, the leading 20th. century physicist has stated, that mass is a physical interpretation of energy.

Religious organizations have understood the power of magic; and therefore monopolized the interpretation of the supernatural to control the human mind.

The universe as a whole is beyond explanation.

Only at the end of the 20th century the roman catholic church admitted, that the great visionary galileo galilei was, in fact, correct.

The second millennium has come to an end. scientists have to admit that the universe is magic.

Hi Todd, have to forgive me , on a bit of a bender here. :D You're right, I thought that about Hawkwind too. I know from other postings you've made that sound quality is important. Listen to Yello, you won't be disappointed. If you can get some of the latewr stuff it's state of the art. They've had at least 13 albums so far. The later stuff is state of the art soundwise. How's the weather in New Zealand. What's out the window. It's raining here (nosurprise there "Swt", right. I wish we were in New Zealand. Never been there of course, but you never know
