I'm creating the brand-new alpha plug-in v3.0 for QCD.
Here is a beta version for everyone to testing.
I hope this version will give you a shock! :p
Version: 3.00beta

There are playlist drawing problems in the base skin Kong mode (the playlist goes black then disappears. Also the plugin crashes when you disable it.

When you enable the plug-in, please restart QCD.
I'll fixed the bug when you disable it.

Awesome, well done! Just one little thingy, in the right click menu of QCD under alpha settings it says gost mode instead of ghost mode. Also another thingy, when i use mouse over and let the player disappear (when the mouse is not hovering above the player) and i right click on the player to get the menu, the player disappears again while the menu is still active. This didn't happen with the previous version if im correct. So could you fix that? Thx and keep up the good work!

Is there a way for a general plugin to get the alpha effect when this plugin is loaded?

Hi,
Just a few bugs, The external visuals window doesn't come back to opaque like the main player does when i put my mouse over it, and using the alpha plug-in with the video plug-in, when the video is played it plays but there is no video just a blank window where the video should be. Perhaps the alpha plug-in shouldn't be applied to the video window. Other than that its gr8!

The new alpha plug is definitely cool... i really like the settings windows fading in and out.
but i see qcd's menus are still just appearing, not fading in like they should in winxp.
:( i take it the problem is winxp then???

Am I the only one for whom the plugin crashes QCD when I disable the plugin? (Not always but quite often)

A disable causes a crash for me too.

I guess I'm a lucky one. In B69, I just disabled it twice without incident.
ADDENDUM: I spoke a bit prematurely, it seems. While Alpha didn't cause QCD to crash immediately, it did soon thereafter and I couldn't get it restarted for a while (it would lock up). I've disabled it for now and will try it again some other time.

It must still be the beta version - I installed it and the first time I unplugged it, it crashed qcd

It seems like the new alpha and my queueit doesn't get along well. :confused: Every time I enable the new alpha plugin and queueit at the same time, QCD will crash on exit with a debug assertion fault in queueit.dll.
The assertion it crashes on is:
ASSERT(pMap->LookupPermanent(hWndOrig) == NULL);
in wincore.cpp -> BOOL CWnd::DestroyWindow()
QueueIt doesn't crash when alpha isn't used. Any ideas?

Did you use "SetWindowLong" to subclass the player?

yes... ?

yes... ?
I also call this function. It will restore the old player's msg processing function...so, when you and I call it, QCD will got a modified msg processing function not the right one :(.
Sorry, I don't know how to slove it.

I can see this as a problem if the plugins arent loaded/shutdowned in the same order. I haven't got any ideas on how to fix this. I would have thought QCD calls the plug-ins shutdown() in the same order as it loads them since I havent had any problems before. ("All" 3 of my plug-ins subclass the same way without it has been a problem) You are subclassing QCD in the GENERALDLL_ENTRY_POINT () and restoring the WNDPROC in the shutdown() right? (I do)
Maybe we need Pauls advise...

Hi all.....
I have a problem with the newwest version of this plugin. At least on my systen, I have tset the "inactive" dialog to slightly above zero even if I want it to be invisible if inactive. If I set the inactive parameter to zero and QD gose inactve, I can't get it back with the mouse. It seems that the plugin loses track of where it is. If I set it to very near zero (I have it at 0.4%) all is well. Has anyone else seen this?

Let me clarify,
If the inactive parameter is set to zero, I can still find QC by clicking in the taskbar icon, but the mouseover feature fails.

Yep, happens here as well. Its a pity because i use it a lot. I guess ill stick to the older version until version 3 goes out of beta.

Will this thing still be released? I hope so, it's been quite a while now. :ponder: I like the new features a lot, but the beta is still kinda buggy. :depressed
