i think it would be great if qcd could use replay gain for all formats. as far as i know, support is only available via the ogg input plugin.

Tray Winamp's replay gain DSP plug-in.
I've been meaning to post this same feature request for some time now...
Really, it should be a request for FULL replaygain support. Last I checked, that old Winamp replaygain plugin only supported 'radio' (per track) replaygain. I'm really only interested in 'audiophile' (per album) replaygain.
In the future, I'd like to be able to highlight a group of songs (be it in the playlist, tag editor, or whatever) and have an option to process selected as a single album for replaygain. Or possibly a large number of files at once, delineating seperate albums for calculation by directory/playlist/whatever.
Storing the data is another matter. I think foobar's support for replaygain would be a good model here, I mean, there's already one good standard out there, why reinvent the wheel? There's a quick list of 'normal' places for storing replaygain data here (http://doc.hydrogenaudio.org/wikis/hydrogenaudio/ReplayGain). As a fallback for CDs and such, just store the data in a database of some sort. (probably just a text file) One caveat is that this would probably require better support for APEv2 tags than QCD currently has. (ie built-in rather than requiring the monkey's audio plugin. do I smell another request thread here? ;))
Then at the end of the chain there's the matter of actually making the adjustment to the audio stream. What I'm wondering is if this would require a new DSP plugin, or could it be implemented as part of QCD's existing equalizer?
