Alphabetical sort

Hi all :-)

I ´ve got a problem with the QMP.
Every time i drop my music to the player, it gets sorted alphabetically.
When i change the settings nothing happens and the music is still sorted alphabetically.

What could be the reason?

Where exactly are you dropping/sorting your music? Are we talking playlist or media library?

I´m speaking of the playlist...i drag the files from the explorer and drop it into the playlist...

I assume it's the 'sort added files by filename on load' option that you're unchecking?

And how exactly are you expecting them to be sorted?

So what, you have them sorted by file size or something in Explorer? Just to test, I unchecked QMP's sort files by file name on load option, then opened up Explorer and sorted them by size, and when I open them in QMP, they're sorted by size.

The only caveat is that if you use the right-click menu or drag & drop, the one that you clicked on is the one that will be at the top of the list. So if you highlight a group of files and then drag & drop, make sure it's the first file in the list that you're clicking to initiate the D&D, and if you use the right-click menu, make sure to right-click the top file and not one in the middle. I'm pretty sure that's just the way Explorer hands the files to QMP, not something that can really be 'fixed'.

Also, if you use Explorer to send folders of music to QMP, instead of groups of files, the sorting data will not be transmitted. Again, that's just the way Explorer works.

EDIT: The above applies to XP, I suppose it's possible that Vista is different in this case.
