Hi,
this is probably my biggest annoyance with QMP so far. Extremely annoying, especially when desiring to scrobble the listened songs:
When I load a folder of MP3 files into QMP, initially the songs are displayed correctly in the playlist with info from their ID3 tags. Sometimes, the displayed info changes spontaneously though, and something different is displayed. This different info is either just - well - different, but sometimes also incorrect and not what I desire to see there. (I don't edit my ID3 tags without a reason, you know.)
Anytime later when I reload these files, QMP instantly shows this new incorrect info, because it is cached in the Media Library. Workarounds are: delete the whole Media Library files in QMP's directory (not usually an option) or move the files to a new folder (so Media Library doesn't recognize them as cached) or delete the items from the Media Library from QMP.
If I knew where to anonymously host a 4.7 MB SWF animation, I could visually show you what happens.
The same goes for some audio CDs as well by the way, where I edit the CD info within QMP, and yet still QMP displays incorrect info (from Gracenote I guess).
Note that with the above mentioned MP3s the displayed labels change at around 14 seconds. Which makes me wonder if this issue is related to the old and yet unfixed CD playback issue (http://www.quinnware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7221), discovered in August 2007 or so, where the music stalls at 14 seconds into any song.
Version is QMP B119, a fresh install plus the very nice Last.FM plugin 0.8 (http://www.quinnware.com/list_plugins.php?plugin=163).
Thanks,
gibson
