My #1 request

QCD has been getting better and better, and most of the things that have been asked for in the past have been implemented. That said, there's still one thing that I really *really* want - definable shadow colors that aren't dependant on the COLOR= parameter in the charset.ini. I've got several skins that use light text on a darker background, and I'd love to be able to give them a dropshadow. However, since the text is already light, the dropshadow is forced to be light also so it ends up being a drop glow instead of a drop shadow. I'd really like to have light text with a dark shadow - that would be absolutely fantastic. Is there any way that this could ever become a reality, Paul?

Colored shadows has not been implemented yet because I haven't solved an issue with them yet.

Naively I could just draw the shadow text, then overlay the normal text, but since the normal text is transparent to some degree, the shadow will affect the look of the normal text - which is poohey. The current shadow solution works around this, but has the caveat of needing to be the same color as the normal text. Of course, I will eventually solve it.

Thanks for the explaination - I understand the situation better now. Too bad there isn't a way to do this at least temporarily for those of us that don't use translucent text ....

you know, i was just coming to the forum to bring up this topic again. but i'm glad to see that it's already been addressed ... and glad that it's still being pursued.i too would still be interested in seeing what it looks like in the meantime tho...
