Video playback not working

Hi, this is Anjali Parmar (from India). I am a casual QCD user, and only a couple of days back, I had downloaded this application: QMP 119 Beta. I understand it is a beta program, but it looks good and works well with all the audio formats.

However, with QMP, I can't play video files like MPEG-I, AVI (XviD), etc. on my Windows XP (SP2) machine :-(

I suspect it has something to do FFDshow filters, because the first time I tried to open a video file, a FFDshow dialog cropped up asking whether to allow QMP (whatever that means!) and I remember I'd clicked on “Yes”. Thereon, some video files are played instantly, while for the majority, the application hangs and I have to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to close it down.
