As I said... Fatal Error is THE man...

Just checkout how cool the blue Half Life (blue shift) skin looks in my desktop...
Had to zip the file cuz of the resolution...
Definetly you should have either Blue Shift or the original one...

sorry if 'rippin' em offends. I don't make them readily available for just anyone to download and I take no credit for the graphix. I even state clear in the description displayed in skin browser that they are 'rips'.

in doing them i've been formulating a new approach to skinning QCD and hopefully improve my artistic skill by seeing how other skins that I've liked.

with all the new features/options available and my lack of inspiration lately, doing ports/rips seemed my only option. either that....or just retire completely from skinning.

I'm with Fatal Error.

Why you can't enjoy a skin you like on the player you like. I had downloaded the X-Box Live skin planning on doing the same thing. But I have not being able to do it due lack of time (my own skin seems sooo far away :()

I don't see wrong in doing such thing the way Fatal is doing... but then here comes all the moral debate about copyrights and blah blah... plus he's adding nice features to skins and as he said it improves this overall skill. Learning from others is never a bad thing to do.

I just hope the guy that wrote 100% crap on the Winamp forum regarding this doesn't shows up here...

first of all fatal:
I'm sorry to say it does offend me ,using someone elses graphics to improve artistic skill is not an artist.
one thing i don't understand is that you have inspiration to do a rip,why you don't put that inspiration into developing something every QCd user can enjoy!I just don't want people classifying every QCd skinner as a ripper!

Hanzo:
Learning from others is not a bad thing,It's just the way you go about doing it could be!
With people doing stuff like this will bring people like that to the QCD forum, and if it does I will show no sympathy!

i get so sick of people that complain about how people go about learning to skin from using other peoples stuff, especially from people that DON'T skin QCD. i don't do it to take any credit for the graphix. if anything, I mean it as a compliment that I want to eventually become as good as them.
if it wasn't for reverse engineering, I'd have given up skinning QCD a long time ago. hell....I'd have stopped using photoshop.
but, for now, to test new directions I wish to go with skinning QCD I will continue my current way of doing things.
Don't like it? feel free to ignore my posts. just like everyone else.

yah, heigar, you are out of line. He doesnt make it readily available so he has the right to do it. You dont have to cry about it....he clearly states that its not his and hes just testing something, get over it. Keep doing fatal, dont listen to him.

I will no longer make a "skin"....Hey whats up with that? Just tired of the "skinning" part? (Sorry for OT... Im not trying to hijack the thread! Personally I enjoy Fatal errors skin rips.)

You know... the fact that such great skins are for a lousy player is what makes me stand and support Fatal. I mean the skins are just awesome and if somebody complains about it then there ain't much we can do for him.

And after all, I just like the fact that I can use WMP skins on QCD... so Fatal... you know you're the man... keep up the good work, there will be a time when you will be able to create all by yourself the same work quality that a team (TSF is a team of people) creates with a bunch of people.

Right now I'm not at my system... but later I'll attach a nice screenshot of T3 on my SubZero desktop... plain coolness :p

i just dont want to code anything anymore. Its too freakin' annoying and ruins the thrill of skinning.
