Problems playing CD with 119

I'm having problems playing CDs with Build 119. Every time the track changes it stops 14 seconds into the new track, for about 25 seconds, then continues playing. If I restart the track, it plays through fine. I have no plug-ins installed that didn't come with the build itself.

Any ideas?

what playback plugin are you using, xfade? try another one.
digital playback or standard? [CDDA prefs]
maybe move the CDDA plugin to the top of the list.

I'm using Direct Sound v2.04

Digital, which is what it was for 117 & 118.

I switched to standard and it worked fine (and boy, was it loud!). The CDs that gave me problems were part of a 2 CD set; I tried a couple of other CDs, and they worked fine under digital. Is there something in the CD itself that would give the digital CDDA in QMP problems?

So I had the problem again yesterday (disk #3 of Grateful Dead Dick's Picks #11) on every track except the first one (so I thought). When I replayed it, though, the first track stopped at 14 seconds, too. Now this morning, everything seems fine.

Could I be conflicting with something?

Not sure, but I have problems with the progress indicator showing up when I start QMP and I had left it playing a cd in the last session (Grateful Dead 11-7-71 disk 4). I have to eject the cd and reinsert it to get the progress indicator to show up. This does not occur with playlists of media files on my hard drive, just cd's.

And I had the problem again yesterday with another new CD. This time playback stopped at 15 seconds (and once at 18 seconds) whereas before it was always, always at 14 seconds. And for most tracks, playback stopped at the end of the track, too, which has never happened before. I switched off of Digital to Standard and it had no effect at all; I still had these 15-30 second pauses (whereas this always worked before).

It's like I can't play CDs with QMP. What can I do to diagnose this? I have a Dell D610 laptop with an Optiarc DVD+RW AD-5540A CD/DVD player.

I located the source of the problem for this. To remedy, go into the <QMP>/Gracenote folder and delete CDDBWOM.dll. That Gracenote control is interfering with CD playback. This will be fixed for next release.

Awesome -- thanks! Unfortunately I'm away and have no CDs with me to test, but now I have a reason to look forward to going back to work on Tuesday.

well, i have another CD Playback problems. I installed 119 yesterday, it was okay, but wen i tried today to start QMP a bug report window appeared like "serious bug occured, application will shut down, do you want report Microsoft? :bored: " in properties i found that qmpcdda.dll caused the bug (maybe unhandled exception?). I unchecked "Preferences - Plugins - Input - Quinnware CD Audio 4.81 [QCDCdda.dll]".
The next time QMP strarted well, but I couldn't play CD's. When i checked option again, i got an ability to play CD's, but i cant remote the track.. i dont see even the scrollbar..!
