Playback stops

QMP stops playing at irregular times.
When one track is finished, it is supposed to play another, but sometimes it just stops, which is very annoying. I then have to press "next track" manually before QMP is of any use again.

I've had this problem on a machine with win XP, B117, as well as on my own pc now in Vista, B118.

I'll report it in the bug tracker.

there is a tickbox for "dj mode" which is for manual track advancement.

It happens annoyingly often, but I can't say it's on a regular basis.
Sometimes it plays a couple of songs in a row without problems, then it stops after every song.
DJ mode is, of course, not enabled.

It happens both with directsound and directsound crossfading, but I haven't had any hangs with waveout so far.
But I want crossfading.:depressed

Edit: nope, just happened with waveout, so that's not it.

What format of files are you playing when it occurs? And what Input plugin (if any non-default) are you using to support that format?

I have had the same problem in at least b117 (and b116 as well I believe) with the standard input plug-ins and xfade output plug-in.

It only happens at times and I think it happens when the playqueue has files in it that has been moved or renamed. (For me at least) I have found no pattern where to file type, but I only have ogg and mp3 and I normally run in shuffle mode.

Yup here too with xfade output and certain mp3 files. The player hangs when it reaches the end of playing some of the mp3 files. Not sure if this is any help though....

I use the bass input plugin, but since I've had it with B117 too it also occurred with the standard input plugin.
The only input plugin I downloaded is bass.
Most of my music is mp3, but here and there I have a wma. But it happened definitely with mp3, so it's not just wma (microsoft :dead:) that is to blame.
I believe removing/renaming doesn't have anything to do with it, because I could just open QMP, start playing and it would hang.

It has stopped, though, but I guess that's because I formatted my drive and restored an image.

Hmm, this bug seems to be coming back. :confused:

I'm having a similar problem with build 119...
I'm running WinXp Home Edition with a 3gig processor.
I often listen to streaming radio shows in mp3 while I work and QMP will just shut down at odd moments without anything else going on. Sometimes while I'm working on a document, other times when QMP is the only program running and I'm over in the living room listening.
Sometimes it goes out at the end of a show, sometimes, like right now, in the middle of an episode.
Haven't changed any settings, except to set up some hot keys and to set the Internet Connection to Intermittent, in order to get rid of that annoying Gracenote thing at the start of the program.
I've also noticed that the buffering is a lot slower than in previous versions (and the % symbol is on the wrong side of the numbers).
Not sure if this is where I should be putting htis, but here it is.
