I am experiencing an unusual problem that I would not normally blame on QMP. However, it occurs within a day or two of installing QMP.

My problem is that every other vertical line on the display is white or gray. This make the whole display looked washed out, but images and text are still readable. Also, there is some ghosting or shadow that looks like its color pallete is small.

This occurs within a day of installing QMP, but not immediately. I am guessing that QMP messes with some video codec that if/when I invoke it (via a web page or playing a video), it corrupts my display driver.

It is nearly impossible to fix, however. The first time I fixed it, I was succusful after doing a system restore. Uninstalling QMP did not work. After a few days, I tried reinstalling QMP; sure enough, I got the corrupted display again.

BTW, I have a Fujitsu N5010 laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 and a 1450 x 1050 monitor (I think).

So, fixing the display the second time was much harder. System Restore did not fix it. I uninstalled lots of stuff - everything association with video (WMP 11, WMP 10, codecs, etc.). Still no luck. I also installed newer and older video card drivers. No luck. Then I system restored again - it worked!

For a long time, at the beginning, I was convinced that it was a hardware problem, but after lots of experimentation, I now believe it is QMP. Since my last fix, I have been for 2 weeks, doing all my normal stuff - except without QMP installed.

Your thoughts?
