Skin Viewer Thumbnail Suggestion.

Perhaps, rather than having to upload a 225x225 screenshot (which is SO small), you could just have the person upload a screenshot of any size. The skin viewer could automatically generate a thumbnail for it, and, when you clicked on it, you would see it full size. That way you don't have to download a skin just to see what the fat is going on in it...

hmm. there should be some limit at least. 255 square is kind of small though. squishy, in fact, if you wanna display more than one mode. how about the 450-500 range?

yup. i odn't even think there should be a limit on the skin size. If someone makes a huge skin, why can't they have a full preview?

There's a limit on screenshot size for a few technical reasons (same template, predictable load speed, no 2mb images to download, etc). And there is a limit on size because we want to give everyone the same chance to advertise their warez. If you can't promote your skin effectively in the space given, perhaps the image size isn't the issue?

Its not that hard to see youngtwig....downloading the skin doesnt take very long anyway....so I dont see reason to bug down the site. Some sites have problems doing what you said (velocityart) Its not an easy feature to implement. Its not needed either.

Perhaps you could put a file size restriction, rahter than a pixel limit. I realize they have to fit in the space.... That's the point of the thumbnail. It would auto-resize it to 225x225 or whatever... Then you would click on it, and it would go to the bigger one. Skins like podxt... they're a bit bigger than 225x225. I thought 300x300 was borderline.

I suppose I could live with it. People could always upload a fullsize image on some freeweb space and link to it...

First off, I'm not trying to push it too much. If I am, I'm sorry.

Secondly, if you have 56k, downloads are pretty slow. Regardless of download speed, it is a pain to download, go to skin browser and load up the skin, especially if it is a heap. I've skins that I thought were awesome... or at least until I actually used them. A 225x225 image is a bit small.

Speaking of which. I made a few emoticons in this color scheme before... They are crying, buck teeth and perhaps I made on more... I thought I did.
