Lately I have noticed that b116 is blocking a significant number of tracks which have been played many times by earlier versions. There seems to be no particular pattern to this except that all the blocked tracks I have found have been OGG files. Blocking has been occurring on load, and generally only one track of a given album set will be blocked. Testing with a different player shows the files to be playable, so corruption (of the files, my morals are beyond hope) is not an issue. I am running Win2k on an elderly P2. Currently, my playlist is about 5800 tracks, mostly OGGs which I have ripped myself, plus MP3 and the occasional FLAC downloads. I thought I had read an earlier post about this, but was unable to find it. Any suggestions?

my ogg plugin gets unticked here from time to time for no reason... :paranoid:

Plugin is checked off, top of the list and working. It's not every OGG that gets blocked, maybe 1 in 100, but with over 4000 OGGs, that's a lot of blocked tracks.

40.

I have had times when I've had blocked tracks that get skipped and blocks that stop the player, but I haven't really looked into it much. Hmmm.

Hi. I have this "blocking problem" too. In my collection are mostly mp3-files, but a few oggs. The blocking (the player stops instead of playing the next file) only occures on ogg-files, if I make a playqueue of only mp3s, everything works fine. I usually use the Crossfading Direct Sound plugin for my playback. Switched to the WaveOut plugin for testing, and until now no files were blocked with this one. Seems to be an issue of the crossfading plug?

I'm also using Crossfader, but don't see how that could be the cause, since the tracks are being blocked as soon as they are loaded into the play queue. The latest info:

1. Only OGG being blocked. No apparent pattern to what tracks get blocked. 2 album folders had 2 blocked files each, all others were singles.

2. If I wade through the play queue and remove the blocked tracks, I can then reload those tracks individually (from "Add Files") although some of them had to be reloaded twice before they would work.

I spent about half an hour tracking down maybe 20 blocked tracks out of about 4000 OGG in a play queue of not quite 6000. That gets hard on the scroll wheel finger, not to mention the eyes!:cross-eye

Hi traveller, so your problem seems different from mine, what exactly do you mean by saying "the tracks are being blocked as soon as they are loaded into the play queue"? Does your playback stop if you load an OGG into the playlist? That's not the case on my system. My playback stops if the next file to play is an OGG sometimes. For example my playqueue has 20 tracks, say 19 MP3s and 1 OGG. The 19 MP3s are played fine, with shuffle play or in normal order. But when the list comes to the OGG-file, playback stops. The queue doesn't move to the next track after the OGG, if there is any. Just stops. Hope we can find the cause and a solution for this...
