I've just discovered a new way to edit photos. It's called Lightzone (http://www.lightcrafts.com/index.php) and it's pretty cool. It takes the curves dialogue to a whole new level. The program looks a bit rough but the results are amazing. Things seem so much easier than in Photoshop, even I can get to grips with it pretty fast. Try the free trial if you fancy it. You won't be disappointed.

While it seems all fancy I don't like the corrections made. Only getting out the blue shadow in the waterfall photo made sense to me but I cant believe how ugly they made the mountains picture! I love the girl though, again in the original picture, not the edited one. I reckon that if you want to make great pictures, get a good camera, but not use a crappy camera and then this software to "correct" the inconsistencies. Despite I'm no photographer I'm very wary of tampering with photos.

I think that "ugliness" is more down to the resolution of the tutorial video as much as anything else. I like this program though. It's very intuitive and if all you're ever doing is touching up photos it's almost perfect. I like how it saves the process as metadata too and so all adjustments made can be altered. That's cool.
