B116 Freezes when updating Id3 tags

I load my MP3 folder into the library and I have some unidentified files. So as I am trying to update the Id3 tags, QMP freezes and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to shut it down. When I re-open QMP and try to play a song, the time moves at double speed and I get no sound, and it does the same thing when I try to play a stream. The only fix I found is a uninstall/reinstall. Any help?
