That will be the last one posted at this site. One of the regualrs, whose internal plumbing I was using for the skins (and whom I gave credit to in the posting of each skin) got upset because I didn't ask permission even though I adhered to the moderator-iterated requirement that I aslways give credit where credit was due and had posted four skins on that basis previously without incidenjt and with that individual's full knowledge that I was doing so. This last skin is the one that somehow provoked his ire.

I'll post in future elsewhere if I'm so inclined to post at all.

Thank you.

And no, actually turquoise is my fave although I once had a turquoise shirt with purple sleeves that was my absolute favorite for years (and owuld be still if it hadn't fallen apart from wear).

I went searching for a Silver Surfer image and found loads...

...of crap. Everybody and his dog did one and they all looked like shite. Comic art (oh please - comic art!), and 3D images that were anything but 3D. I had just about given up and had narrowed it down to two passable images (which weren't great either) and then I came across this one...

....Instant Orgasm!

The skin had to match the wallpaper, hence the poiple. :)

In any event, let's get back on topic here. This thread is aobut Desktop Sidebar skins (mine or someone else's) and not aobut sexual orientation. That belongs NOT in Art Attack but in the no-rules section where anyone and his dog can openly display their intellectual shortcoming. :)

No worries, dude. I'd never have seen his post if you hadn't quoted it. Allan was added to my ignore list a while back - as was Neo (in the old Usenet days we called that the Bozo Bin).

Remember I said way back when that 2007 was the year I'd take out the trash? Allan was part of that trash. He's petty, hypocritical, unprofessional and bitter. He has on occasion claimed to like me. That's total nonsense and I have the PMs to prove it.

Just before I quit as mod, there was an altercation with Neo and I threatened to ban him. Allan tried to play the big man and say he had to power to block it if I decided to ban someone. i told him that he needed to take that up with Paul. he tried to weasle around it with his usual empty rhetoric but I wouldn't let him, finally confirming with Paul who actually had senior mod status (myself, acozz, Paul and Matt). Allan had a fit and sent me a blistering PM (which of course I saved - telling him that I had done so) calling me every name in the book and in general acting like a spiled brat - in short, being pure Allan.

Now, you see, I've always had the self-given provelege of deciding who I'd work with and if I deemed someone unprofessional, I simply wouldn't. That was what made up my mind to resign as a mod. I tabled my resignation to Paul, warned him about Allan's unsuitability for mod status, iteratd my recommendations for replacements as senior mod(s) and walked.

Now I have no axe to grind my revealing any of this. I'm not a mod here any more, have no aspirations to be one and I rarely even drop in. I have a well-deserved reputation for calling them as I see them and also I hope a degree of integrity. So there you have it.

I'm sure his reaction to this will be most entertaining and it's almost tempting to lift him out of the Bozo Bin *just* long enough to read it...

...but no.

At the end of the day, the Drivel Factor would just be too high and I have better things to do than read someone who speaks just because he's in love iwht the osund of his own voice. He also need not worry about any further PMs being filed by me because any he sends will be deleted sight-unseen, obviously for the same reason.

So, take care and as we say inJamaica:

"I'll see you when I see you".

Thanks for that Roj. It's appreciated, really.

There's a saying. Something like "Evil thrives when good men do nothing". Something like that anyway.

I'd like to think there's more than a few good men (and women) on these forums who are doing nothing. Maybe they agree with Todd's bigotry, and maybe they agree with Acushlas style. If they don't, if they don't want to be associated with bigots and children they need to speak up.

There are so many threads around here that are immediately offensive, to one group or another. It wasn't always like this. I hold my hands up. Sometimes I'm a bit too vitriolic, can't argue with that. The difference is when I get heated it's because of important issues. Like the mass murder our governments are responsible for, to name but one.

Getting worked up because a man might be into another man, or a woman might be a God (which apparently is itself a ridiculous idea) is totally moronic. Like I've said before, everyone has a right to an opinion. But when someone is also a moderator, a policeman, as it were, then that persons views have to be able to stand up to the utmost scrutiny. Todd's does not. Funnily enough Roj, yours always did.

As for Acushla, well, he has a talent, no doubt about that. If he was a schoolboy it might even be useful.

Stay cool man. And wolf.

So, take care and as we say inJamaica:

"I'll see you when I see you".If this is his version of the story I warn everybody not to take his movie reviews too seriously.

Actually, I welcomed this as it presents about as clear an insight as to how his mind works as I'm ever likely to see...let me tell you...it ain't pretty.

I know Roja is highly liked by most members who know him...he can be entertaining...but when it comes to facts...not so much.

As to the claim I do not like him...wrong again. There are many aspects of Roja to like...but for me, there are also many things not to like. I calls them as I see them. Too bad Roja is so intimated by someone who calls him on his shit that the only solution he can think of is to simply 'ignore' them. Even Rex had a problem with that and told Roja as much. It's the height of ignorance.

No wonder he doesn't grow.

As for the Mod thing...I told Paul I no longer wanted to remain a Mod. Sometime later when Paul and I discussed it he stated that I would have been given authority to ban people...I only had to ask for it. Feel free to contact Paul on that should you feel the need to. That includes you Roja.

Hate to burst your bubble.:)

As we say in Canada:

"Not if I see you first"

I've written, deleted, written, deleted now about 7 times.

So I will approach this from another direction, but first: Please, define what you mean by 'being on the attack since day one.'

If by 'attack' you mean 'challenge', 'have a different opinion'...then I fail to see the problem.

One has lots of friends and (hopefully) there are things you agree with and things you don't. It's what keeps your friendships growing and dynamic.

The love of my life and myself have an understanding: We agree that we can disagree.

Doesn't mean she is any less my friend or lover. Also doesn't mean we don't continue to discuss those things we disagree on...and in the end she always ends up seeing how I was right.

I strongly disagree with Todd's intolerance and Acushlas hypocrisy.

But I also think that you cannot demand such a thing Rory.

Let me explain.
I think it has become extremely difficult to be even read in this forum if your approach is a mediative one and if you are not able to respond to unswallowable posts because you don't feel to be up to write an appropriate answer because of language reasons and because you cannot see through the hyprocrisy of some posts unless you are a native speaker.

And this is telling.

It is always black & white here. I don't want to be marked with either color. If I would be "marked" I had to take on extremely difficult responses, not really getting my point though, because the poster would be in silent opposition to my words.

I am tempted to respond, you know, I just closed another response tab because I think this one is more important. It is sad that some forum members cannot hold their tongue/approach an issue from another view - in short - are narrow-minded.

And I will call names :

Todd - I think you help where you can, you do your best for the community, one has to acknowledge that. But sometimes I wish you hadn't posted answers which show your peculiarity on some issues. And when you post such a thing and see that you have hurt someone with this - why do you keep on defending your position with such an arrogance ? That is the point with you - no understanding of other peoples sensitivities.

Acushla - Try not to play a role for a little moment. I say - you'll love it. After we had our fight some weeks ago we had a little PM-conversation and I thought you had learned out of this. Apparently I was wrong. You told me you respected me etc. and seemed to be pretty honest. I now think this is your style of keeping the pack still.
(oh, and your Jew comment was absolutely idiotic btw.)

Shewolf - I think everyone knows Todd was making a joke there. Everyone also knows that Todd has some "special" views on subjects like homosexuality or the role of women. Just try to be a little less sensitive here. He needs to learn how to behave like a reasonable moderator, needs time.

Rory - try to use less invectives :)

Hmm, after all I just spoke up, did I ? Hmmmm.....

But my mediative approach remains - if you laugh or not.

You know, that's the other reason I left this board.

The BS .

A thread starts. It's fine for a bit. Then the sniping starts. The petty nonsense. The shallow comments with no value. Someone responds. Someone else wades in and tries to be a mediator but is singularly ineffective because mediation never works in situations like that. And I too will name names. All of this stated when acushla showed up. Any of you old timers who are still here, think back to how it was before he showed. Thing back to how it was before he was mistakenly granted mod status. It should be obvious to all but the blind and stupid that the man is a classic Attention Whore. He needs it, craves it and that's what drives the nonsense he perpetuates. As to Todd, he's simply a kid who hasn't grown up. life will take care of that or it will take care of him - it is a most unforgiving teacher. And forget the Kurt Walheim peacekeeping efforts, IdeFIXX. You haven't clued in yet: your way only works if backed by force (especially when the board has degenerated to the state this one has) and if the participants want to learn. As demonstrated many a time (else you wouldn't have to keep repeating your obviously futile attempts) the offenders don't want to (or rather can't) learn. The way you deal with this is that you identify your cancer and you cut it out. Then maybe the patient has a chance at recovery.

But that will never happen here because indifference on the part of Paul and political correctness on the part of misguided mediators Will Never Produce results. No one has the balls to call a spade a spade and neuter the troublemakers once and for all. I don't get to see half of what's going on in this thread (by choice) but the fallout is obvious.

That's why this board is a waste of time for me. I daresay it's a waste of time for a lot of others too for that same reason.

So, you have a choice: stew in your sewer or drain it. You have two rogue mods here. Fix it. As a first step, might I recommend the action I took: black their posts. You have an ignore list; exercise it. That's one way you as a member can take action and insulate yourself from the BS that cannot me stymied by management inaction.

This is my last comment in this thread and I am now un-subscribing form it.
