I'm wondering if QCD supports multiple instances of the program running at the same time. Maybe it can create problems on slower / less powerful computers, but there are sometimes I'm mixing songs in a party or something were two QCD would be handy.:p
Adding /new or /newinst to the command line will launch multilple instances. Best way to add the command option is in a shortcut to qcdplayer.exe.

Ok, thanks Paul. I wouldn't figured that out. Never tried switches for QCD. Is there anything less "obscure" coming for the new version? Maybe just add an option in the preferences.

the way paul described have been in QCD for a very long time. see the Q Tips in right-click menu > QCD Player > Credits and Q Tips
These Q Tips are kind of obscure though. i wonder if people would find them more if they were in the Preferences dialog in its own section. Then Help could be taken off the submenu and put on the parent menu and hopefully get used more often (?!)

actually they are, but sort of hidden in the topic for command lines. i thought about making them their own topic, i suppose i should.

How do you edit the shorcut in WinXP to be able to launch multiple instances?
I'm trying to type in the target the following, but it says that it isn't valid:
"C:\Program Files\Quintessential Player\QCDPlayer.exe/newinst"
Or how do I make it work?
Put a space between the command flags: qcdplayer.exe /new

Like the following:
"C:\Program Files\Quintessential Player\QCDPlayer.exe /new"
I tried that, but still the same error.

Never mind Paul. I figured it out.
It's after the " (what is that called anyway, quotes right?) It should look like:
"C:\Program Files\Quintessential Player\QCDPlayer.exe" /new

yeah, you need the quotes there because of the space character in the path
