I wish there an option that would remove the track from the playlist when its done being played. I;ve got a huge playlist and I just have it on shuffle, but it still seems to always play some songs all the time, so it would be cool if the playlist kept shrinking all the time.

Now I know there is a plugin that acts as a queue. but its kinda clunky and it would be much wasier if it was built right into qcd.

When you put shuffle on, QCD makes a random playlist in the background and plays through it. No files should be repeated until all your songs are played.

^^^ I swear that can't be the case, cause I always seem to get songs repeating themselves it seems. Which is wierd cause I've got about 3000 songs loaded into it.

I've seen the same - some songs definitely get played multiple times, while hundreds of others aren't played at all.

Remember that every time you restart the player or toggle shuffle on and off a new shuffle list is created...Maybe thats whats happening...

which is exactly why they should have an option to have the song removed from the playlist after its played so that when you close the player and restart it you dont get a new playlist like you do now.

You could just do Sort -> Randomize Playlist, then turn off shuffle.

When you start up the player after doing this it will go back to the song you stopped at.

yea I know, but Iike them to be in order because a lot of times if a song comes on randomly from a band I like I'll play one or two more then. So if the playlist is in random order its hard to search for a specific song. I don't know, I just think it would be a cool feature to have the playlist always getting smaller, but maybe thats just me ti seems.

I know it's just another roundabout option, but if you decide you want listen to more songs from a band you like, you could use Quicktrack (right click on the song display) or get the Jump plug-in for a quick search.

I do think the feature you talk about is pretty cool, and there's no reason it shouldn't be an option.

It would also be good because when you open and close qcd, the playlist is still there with the remaining songs, whereas now if its just shuffle a new playlsit is created everytime which is part of the problem with tracks repeating all the time. I know theres roundabout ways for this like people have mentioned in the thread, but it seems like an easy option to add to the program which can just be toggled from within preferences and would add a more interesting way of playing your music.

:bulb: I think that Quinntessential Player 4.11 build 69 and Windows 98 SE users should have the option to remove a file from the playlist without physically removing the files off the hard drive. Also, I think it would be easy for Quinntessential Player 4.11 build 69 or later to have this feature built in as a seperate button in the Graphical User Interface (GUI). In addition I think that this could be designed to work on Windows 98 SE or Windows 2000 ,or Windows XP. :bulb: ;) :p

Just pressing delete removes it from the playlist without deleting the file off the hard drive.
