USB External DVD Writer

Does anyone have any experience with these? The burner went out on my laptop, and the price of these external drives seems to be better than what I'll have to pay for a new laptop drive.

I have a LaCie DVDRW drive for my laptop. It works very well & I'm happy to pay a little extra for their well made kit. I'm sure you can also get cheaper.
