ML custom sort

I vote for custom sorting in ML. There are probably as many opinions about this as there are users, so a custom sort would solve this :)
I personally have stopped using ML since v 113, when the new sorting method (artist-album) was implemented.

I'd like this too. The change from sorting an artist's albums by year to by alphabetical order isn't what I prefer, although I'm sure there are plenty of others who don't care about the year as much.

Custom sorting seems like the way to go. Maybe, if I first sort tracks by year, then by artist, then the 2nd sorting criterion should be year?

EDIT: Downloaded the beta, arg. Left my idiocy below in the hopes that if anyone wants to mention something similar they'll think twice. :)

Personally I find the Media Library (that's what we're talking about here right?) to be fairly lacking anyways. I was using Winamp before switching to QMP, and I liked their style (different lists for artists, albums, tracks). As you chose entries from the lists, it would filter the others to only show the relevant info.

I installed the WMP 11 beta to check out it's performance and looks and stuff, I like how their Media Library is too, and the way it'll display the album covers and stuff. This may not be what everybody likes but it's nice to have choices. :)

I'm not saying go copy these guys above either, but having the Media Library double as the Playlist is lame (IMO). :)

In what way does QMP's library act that makes it seem like it doubles as a playlist?
