I am tired of having that stupid CDDB animation pop up in the corner all the time, as well as not wanting to submit any information to the database because I know it's going to a corporate organisation. If you could make it possible to use freedb instead, or even just disable CDDB, that would be great.

Preferences > plugins > libraries > uncheck CDDB. Done.

The tagging system of QCD is provided by CDDB, so I would recommend just setting your internet connection in the preferences to "I have no internet connection (Never Connect)."

acozz, I've always used "I have a fulltime internet connection" so, I thought, my spinamp and sclister would be able to function properly. Am I wrong? What does this setting do? Does it matter which I choose? The way I have it set up, I get everything I need, and never have CDDB pop up.

If you do not want CDDB but still want to edit the tags of your mp3s or other files, you should set your internet connection to "I have no internet connection (Never Connect)."

If you do not want CDDB and will not be editing any tags, uncheck the CDDB plugin.

Thanks acozz .. That's exactly how I use QCD.

Thanks for the clarification acozz :)

I guess I will have to rip my CDs with some other program from now on, but that's OK.
