View Full Version : Development Build 113
I typed a whole bunch and out came this build.
Lots of bug fixes and internal improvements, but most of the effort went to getting the PDK out. So go make some plug-ins!
Cheers

Still have massive fonts in the media library? :( Oh well, the rest is great!

Now that it has been different for a few builds, I don't even remember the old size. This seems fine now.

The "Remove from Media Library" option finally works correctly. If an artist is removed, for example, the entry now disappears from the left pane immediately. Previously, a restart was needed for the library to update itself. Great.

Great job, sure, but...
Pause playback. Press Next. QMP still freezes! WTF?!
What's the idea to waste time for fixing cosmetic bugs if basic functionality is still broken

Yeah, that is bad. I think my very first thread on this forum concerned that bug with QCD, and it ended up being a problem with the MAD plug-in.

I could never reproduce this before. If I can, it will be fixed.

Ok, for those getting this issue I take it you are using the Crossfader playback plugin? I could not reproduce it with waveout.
I made what is hopefully a fix, so if you could be please test this updated plugin.
Thanks.

Sorry for my bad initial description.
Thanx and best regards.
PS
I hope you will repack current QMP version with this fixed version.
Thanx again.

I tested that, but I am not getting that problem. Strange.

I am still getting the Media Library to go blank and freezing QMP occasionally though. :disappoin

The ML goes blank while QMP stays up? This can only mean a ML module crashed. Do you have MusicID running? Are you doing anything repeatable before it goes blank?

I've had that a lot with b112 but nothing so far with b113. Note: I have disabled the Gracenote MusicID CD service plugin.

I don't use any Gracenote stuff. The Media Library goes blank, but QMP also hangs and I need to close it and reopen.

So it just goes blank without you touching it? Or is there an action that provokes it?

Previously it would go blank by adding tracks from the Media Library to the Play Queue. But since B113, I have only noticed it by adding files to the Media Library. Add to Library > Add Files.
I haven't used B113 a lot yet, so I cannot say that the Media Library going blank is only limited to that action.

Thanks, no problems now.

It must be that you have at least one 'special' audio file that is freaking things out when it gets imported. Bad tag or something. If you can figure out any way of locating which file it is, the bug can be solved also immediately there after.

No. It seems to happen before I even actually add a track to the media library.
I have found a workaround which may help you diagnose the problem.
If you open QMP and immediately click on Add to Library > Add Files, the Media Library will quite often (not always) go blank and hang the whole player. But if I play a track (even for a second), and then proceed to add a track to the Media Library, this does not happen. :cross-eye
EDIT: I just tested the above with no tracks in the Media Library, but the same thing happens when I click on Add to Library > Add Files... Even before I get to browse to the folder.

Onl on 113 here. And only after switching from one of the two smaller modes of the default skin to the alrge mode.
