First message on the new forum :D

Just to recall a (strong) wish expressed on the old-forum:

please add a "playlist / Add playlist" menu, in order to complete the "playlist / Load playlist" option which overrides the current playlist.

Thank you Paul ! :)

ah, yes. several people agreed IIRC
perhaps this has already been added to the next beta?

An "Add Playlist" function would be great!

Another somewhat related playlist problem I noticed today.

If I start QCD empty (Set it not to remember the last playlist) and go Playlist -> Load Playlist -> whatever.m3u or clicking on the Play button then choosing Load Playlist will do the same. It will always start with the first track even though it's in shuffle mode.

Double-Clicking the same playlist file from explorer does not do that, it shows the first track as it's loading and then starts playing a random song.

to add a playlist:

right-click on the play button > Add Music and choose Files of Type: playlists

Thanks regener8ted! So simple. :)

to add a playlist:

right-click on the play button > Add Music and choose Files of Type: playlists
that's not nearly as user friendly as a dedicated Add Playlist
it also changes the directory that it starts from to the one that you last used instead of starting at the same place each time like the Load Playlist option does

no, not terribly easy ;)

you could also have the 'Append files' option checked in Preferences > Media Loading. Then you can just browse to the folder, highlight the playlist and hit Enter.

i would still cast my vote to add this feature, but in the meantime these are some alternative methods...

Hi !

This is true of course, but by using this method, the benefits of the automatic m3u/pls searching (in load playlist) is lost...

This is the only reason why I ask for this option

Just a reminder :

> When it is checked, playlist that we've chose is appended to current. Otherwise current playlist is replaced by

> Also it would be useful to save the state of this checkbox.

I guess it would beautifully solve the problem which is being discussed :v)

mmmh, i don't like this very much cause it too complicated :D

I think the most beautiful would be to have load playlist and add playlist in the menu ! ;)

No additional checkbox, no state to remind, no question "will it append, will it replace ?", just a basic command :)

Just in menu - it's simple and comfortable

Related enough that I felt I might as well continue this thread:

I'd like to have multiple playlists - but not appended playlists.
So songs in the current playlist get played.
Shuffling means songs shuffle in the current playlist.
But I could click on playlist 2 "goa trance" and just listen to the songs in that playlist, for example.
And be able to say, when playlist 1 completes, move on to the next playlist. Or move to a random playlist.
The multiple playlists in winamp is kinda what I'm after, if I recall (I've been using QCD for some time now).

QueueIt is a good plugin for doing this and I use it a lot. Just load all your songs into the playlist and queue the single album.

Sounds a lot like the tab idea that was a long discussion about. But could be made as a plug-in too, with just a list of all the playlist in playlist folder and a checkbox whether it should be played. Or maybe it could work like the quicktrack menu for easy access. (Which wouldn't requere an uckly non skinned window)
Just some ideas Im throwing around...

Elephant does exactly this. Maybe setting it up isn't most user-friendly but after that works like a charm.

You just gotta love this program, always has a trick in his sleeve ;)

Well Elephant hasn't got options for automatic replacement of playlists when one playlist is done etc. as far as I know. (Have been awhile since I used it...) But yer might be close enough.
