I'm currently using QCD 4.11 and have encountered a few problems with MP3 files on which I've modified the ID3 tags using QCD then saved to my iRiver iHP100 portable player.
Basically, when the iRiver Database software reads the new files in order to sort things by album / artist / genre etc, any files that have had their tags edited result in a corrupted database entry. The file still plays OK, it's just the database entry (based on the ID3 tag info) that's screwed up. The symptoms are the affected database entries being shown as non-english characters.
When run through other players, the file info appears fine - ditto when the tag info is viewed through other editors. This would imply the problem lies with iRiver's software, however the reason I'm posting here (as well as iRiver's site) is because the problem only occurs when I edit files using QCD. If, for example, I edit file tags using Winamp there are no problems.
If anyone has any insight into what might be causing the problem, I'd be interested in hearing from you.
Cheers,
Grum.
