OMG Rex is working on a new skin!

It's is definitely different from most out there. I like a skin that has buttons for all of the things that I may use, and this one does. One thing though, what made you choose to have separate buttons for play and pause? What would happen if I pushed the play button during playback or the pause button while the track is paused?

It would be cool if where it said qmp you could optionally get a little visualisation there too. Just my thoughts anyway. Don't take too long with it I need something to play with! :P :silly:

There is a separate pause button for symmetry. The play button will probably function as pause as well. We'll see. The skin is brown but i thought that matched the other colours well. In the meanwhile ive added some texture to it so it looks even better. I may create another colour version that works well with the colour chooser in QMP so you can decide how it will look like. I dont know about a pruning mode button so i'll investigate. If there's one on the default skin i can figure it out otherwise, no. I dont know if there's room for a skin visualisation.

EDIT: I changed my mind about brown. It's a gross colour. Now i got something that makes this skin look like the best!

I may be missing a font or two. No track info appears in the main window. This changes if I go to skin settings and use a font I have. Nothing seems to change on the time display on the stick mode no matter what font I use.

Otherwise I like what I see: pretty yet functional. It's really nice to have a skin I can use when I'm not wearing my glasses that isn't a horrible waste of screen space when they're on.

Oh it's so nice in a mint green color. I don't know if this is something you control as a skinner but it's nice to see that color changes I make don't impact the hi-lighted file color in the ML and PL. When those change with a color change I find myself limited in the colors I can realistically use and still get readable text when hi-lighting a file. Well done.

About the first thing, you probably quickly realise that the first box is for track title and the second for album/artist title only that QMP doesnt always remember this and if you have incomplete tags then the second box remains empty as well. Soooo that is not really my fault. I did include all the fonts with the skin so its strange if QMP cannot find them....

EDIT: I got rid of vertical resizing because that just messed up the skin and i used standard fonts this time so there should be no problems. Tomorrow the skin should be updated on the skins page

Massive improvements coming your way!! Check tomorrow if you can download version 1.10 of my QMP skin.

I forgot to mention that for version 1.10 if you want the font on media library buttons to look like the font used on the other buttons as in the PL, ENC, VID, VIS, then edit the skin by renaming it to Q.zip and get the font file in it and copy it to your windows/fonts directory.

Hey Rex. The skin is looking good. I have only just had a look at it now. A few things. When QMP is maximized, and you press the "EQ" button, the equalizer hides behind the skin. You can bring it the front, but it is still in an awkward position. Do you think it could dock below the Mute/Shuffle/Repeat buttons?
Also. The Maximize button tooltip should change to "Restore Down" after you have maximized.
And the search field is partially hidden in either Maximized or Restored Down.

Thanks man! To answer your requests:

1) The equaliser opens up near the equaliser button. I thought that made the most sense. You can drag it where you want it and the next time you open it up, it should open up where you previously put it.

2) I could still change the maximise button with a 'restore' symbol but i thought it wouldnt be a big deal. Besides the button has only four button states, so it gets tricky to do that. I can make it 'change' upon mouse hover. I dont think that button remains pressed when you maximise. I have the same problem with the button that brings you to stick mode. That's why it animates like that. EDIT: I see now that the maximise button remains in a pressed state. I can fix that.

3) Which search field are you referring to? The one in the ML is cut off but that's because there is no more space. I cant help it unless i shrink every button. In maximised mode the search field does show up properly here. My desktop resolution is 1152*864.

I found a good solution for you. Go to preferences -> library options. In the dropdown menu select 'icons' only. That will free up a lot of space and the search bar becomes properly visible.

I think it looks great. One thing I noticed: the eject button is upside down with respect to the default skin.

Clicking the media library button while in the library brings up the playlist, and clicking any of the other four buttons while in that view brings up the media library. Is this on purpose? In a way it could be a good feature, but it isn't too hard to go and push the button you actually want.

I think i could do something about this! Like leave the button dark when pressed. Good idea!

EDIT: If you click twice on eg playlist, it'll close that extension and always re-opens the media library. Only if you close the media library (by clicking twice) then the playlist is opened instead.

Ha ha thanks. I'll leave the eject button as it is. This way it actually makes more sense to me. The horizontal bar is the tray and it is ejected towards you.
