Well i'm working on a skin, and was thinking to myself. To me the most important thing in the skin is the track info and the playlist. I mostly use the remote version of a skin anyways. The EQ and all of the buttons are a nice touch but make the skin look crowded. Thats why I like how EQ's can be hidden when not needed. I was thinking about having a panel that hid most of the buttons until they were really needed. I have a multimedia keyboard so I don't really use the buttons, but want my skin to appeal to a wider range of people.

I was looking for some opinions on this and if you think its a good idea or not.

If you can do it, do it. I too don't have much use for much of what a skin offers. Once I get a playlist going all I really need is track and time info, thanks to my keyboard. I would really like to see a minimal stick skin, no wider than a title bar, that supports the media library.

For now I use the Now Playing plugin. It gives me that minimal display but it isn't exactly pleasing to the eyes. Nor does it give much of the functionality a real skin would have.

I never knew about this Plug-in (http://www.vprince.com/np/). It looks interesting. I will give it a try. :cheeky:

Personally, I would love to see a skin like that... The only button I use is "Always on Top"... I have both a Multimedia Keyboard... and I have My Multimedia Wireless Mouse... (I really don't know what else to call it...) Those cover everything I need...

My Opinion - Go For it!!!

That is... As long as the playlist can be hidden...

Edit: I like that plugin too... :)

Maybe you might be looking to do something similar like Evil Player (http://www.quinnware.com/forum/showthread.php?p=62928#post62928). If not, then maybe it might give you some ideas. :bulb:

I just thought of the awesomest skin. It's going to require I scrap my skin that I am currently working on though. I just hope I can implement everything. So keep a lookout in the future for it. It will blow your mind..........or not..

no I haven't...

I know you might be thinking, "he keeps changing his mind and will never release anything". As it looks yeah I can see how some people would think that. But i've started on my new skin and it is coming together nicely. I'll keep you all posted.

You keep on plugging, bro.

I once wrote an MS Access database application that calculated 3 layer Least Cost Routing from 20 providers, based on near realtime Answer Supervision Ratios.

This engine's first incarnation required 36 hours to solve, making it worthless. Tweaked the code and separated the components. Solution now required about four hours. Tweaked the code, recombined the components and the solution ran in about an hour.

I then had a dream. From what I learned in the dream, I rewrote almost all of the code. The engine produced an LCR solution in about two minutes.

Skin me, white boy!
