In the preferences, the extension AVI is listed as an audio file. Thanks.

If it has a "QCD" icon, and you've clicked on it to select it, I believe that it associates the avi file to launch with QCD. In the past, I've had to reassociate all my video files back to mplayer2 when I downloaded a new version of QCD. After saving,closing and reopening QCD, the files were correct. Hope this long-drawn explaination helps.
