Whenever I start QMP 107...it crashes. I suspected it may be a plugin...so I removed all the plugins one by one until QMP stopped crashing. When I finally deleted QCDML.dll...the crashing stopped. So that plugin needs to be fixed or something. I don't get an error message or anything so that's all I can tell you. Thanks.

BTW...what does this plugin do anyways?

medialibrary perhaps ?
yup

Have you added things to the library or are you upgrading from an old build? You might want to try deleting the media library files in Program Files\Quintessential Media Player\MediaLibrary\Database

Just delete those files and try loading QMP again and see if it still crashes.

I tried what you suggested...but it still crashes.

This is a fresh install of QMP 107. I just re-installed Windows and wanted to install QMP which ran fine before. It loads and you see the app for about 5 seconds, then it just closes(crashes). When I delete the QCDML.DLL file...the app works fine. :depressed

Perhaps I can be of some assistance..makes a change.

I had the same problem, but mine also extended to the WMA plugin. It's something to do with a clean install of windows, try downloading the latest audio drivers etc, etc. Then it should work, it's not a defect in your QMP install but some clashes over audio drivers and Windows being a little bitch.

I just experienced the same problem - it worked swell before, but stopped working right after I installed Nero 7..? Tried to delete the Media Library, didn't work. Renamed QCDML.dll - worked fine. A shame, really - I was getting to like that library... ;(

Nero 7 is a massive waste of space though. I went back to 6. Make sure your drivers are updated too!

I do have Nero 7 installed. So it's probably the same issue. The only reason I installed Nero 7 is to get NeroVision to encode DVDs. If there'd be a way to install the new NeroVision and keeping the old Nero 6...I'd do it. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

If Nero is the source of the conflict, instead of removing QCDML.dll, go into the MediaLibrary/Plugins folder and remove ML_WMDMDevices.dll. That plugin would be the one not getting along with Nero.

ok, I'll try your suggestion when I get home and give you all an update. :evolved:

Well it worked...removing the ML_WMDMDevice.dll file worked. But what does this file have anything to do with Nero? I'm confused...cuz I'm not running Nero or anything while using QMP... :cross-eye

Check your Task Manager because Nero runs a lot of crap in the background, such as their damn Nero Scout or whatever the hell it is.

It is interesting. I haven’t seen one good comment about Nero Scout / Nero Home. I wonder if Nero AG are taking note of all of this.
