Broken Skin - Totally Clueless

Alright, so I moved to 107, and *bam* my skin stops working. It's possible it was something that happened in a slightly earlier version, as I know I was at 4.51 for sure, but maybe not yet the newer ones.

The skin, is an updated version of 'Post Graduate' that I made 2 years ago. Here's a link to the last ZIP of this skin (http://www.zono.com/Post-Graduate-BROKEN.qsk), if anyone (please!) could tell me why this doesn't work, I would really love to know... I have taken 3 other skins apart in the last 2 days looking for a good reason... and my playlist toggle button has the right color, my extension has the right color, the resize handles are all correct, etc, etc, etc. Hell, a few mins ago I followed the lead of Stargate in extreme detail, and still, I get a broken skin.

To be clear: The playlist should be able to toggle, as well as be moved independantly from the main body, both should be able to size alone, and the playlist sizes from all 4 sides. Right now, what I instead see is a skin that is 1 part, the toggle button is there, but does nothing, and the playlist & main body size, but in very, very broken ways... with lots of corruption.

Did you completely remove the previous version before installing build 107? That's what Paul recomended. He also told some others that didn't do a clean install that had some problems to go to the skin folder and delete the skinpref.ini. You might try that.

Nope... no dice. A clean install acts exactly the same. The skin in it's most basic form (before I started trying to fix it) is better, which is very, very odd to me, but it still won't resize the playlist. One of the many capable skin creators here will probably look & tell me I'm a moron :)

So I have continued to mess with this in order to find a workable solution... and I've had a few ideas that didn't pan out. The baseline skin I had before I messed with it for 107 works 'more', even though, compared to the proper setup of other working skins, it's less correct. The playlist toggle button works, the main section resizes, etc. However, the playlist itself still won't toggle. Setting various defaults for that extension's size do nothing. So I assume this is some odd thing related to the Break H&V files. Is it possible to create a different break file for each section of the skin, instead of mapping all parts onto 1 BMP? I've tried giving the skin a break color that's the same across all break lines, but that just causes it to explode. Using a color for the main part breaks, and another for the playlist causes the playlist to become unsizable... even though it still drags seperate and is able to be toggled. I am just really, really confused. Anyone have some insight? Some of the more capable skinners surely must know why it's FUBARd?

Not until next major release, in case of skinning updates from now until then. Plus still experimenting with a few things!

Oops forgot to mention that some of the skins in my photobucket have changed some and I haven't updated them yet and there is one I have been working on that I know you have been waiting for that isn't up there, so just hang in there and someday soon you may just get a surprise!

All done, had to rearrange some things in the skinkid.ini file, and create an extbtnset.bmp and removed the extension button from the windowset.bmp and put it in the extbtnset.bmp. If you ever need anymore help feel free to drop me a private message or ask in the forum and I will see what I can do.
