I was just wondering how portable QMP is for running from a portable hard drive or jump-drive?

Does QMP currently write anything to the registry? If so, can this be an option not to in the installer?

Are settings saved in the registry or in something like and .ini file in the QMP directory?

Does the ML, or any other stadard plugins, support relative path names? (i.e., using /../Music instead of E:/Music to keep track of files kept on the same portable hard drive)

Any other issues I'm not thinking of?

Currently winamp is the only media library based player I can get to work properly from a portable hard drive. Thanks in advance for anyone's advice.

QMP doesn't create any registry keys and it doesn't register any DLLs (other than the shell extension, but that's not a dependancy). So you could copy the install folder to a removable drive and it will work fine.

As for a relative path Media Library. No, it stores absolute paths.

Is there a possibility that path selection could be manually input or editted via typing in the path or by the current method of browsing the folder tree?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Not currently. But it will be completely possible for a developer to make a Library plugin that integrates that ability, or any number of tools to help move a library.
