What kind of video files does this player play?

i m unable to play any video file. i thought it would b as good as real1player(plays any video file), but it doesnt!

i usually play 'dat' files. what to do, in order to play movie files???

suggest plug-ins, plz(if plug-ins r required).

You need the video plugin to play videos:

It plays a lot of files but you might want to take a look in the FAQ (http://beta.quinnware.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23) on how to get it to play realmedia files.

that's what i found out :

The QCD video plug-in can do this, but it needs some help from the Real Media codecs which can be downloaded from http://shaohao.vip.sina.com/RealCodecs11.zip or http://kazaalite.tk/

Download the RealMedia Splitter from http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/

For WinXP, copy the unicode .ax file from the .zip you downloaded to your \windows\system32\ directory (similar directory for other versions of windows, but use the non-unicode version), and add the RM (or whatever) extension to the defaults in the Video plug-in configuration.

Are the .dat files you are referring to the incomplete Kazaa download .dat files?
Try the video plugin and add 'DAT' to the extension list in it's configuration.

Plz give me the link to where I can install video codecs(for all players). That kazaalite link isnt working for me.

P.S. I've WMP 9, RealOne Player, QCD, etc.

If I remember right, .dat is just a slightly differnt form of MPEG video. You could probably also just rename the files with the extension .mpeg or .mpg.

The kazaa-lite link was removed as it was related to the program "kazaa-lite" who where recently told to remove it by shareman networks (owners of the real crappy kazaa) the link to there codec packs is here http://doa2.host.sk/codecs/
