In this thread post any photos, be it satellite, arial, or ones of your vacation, of places you think are interesting for people to go to. Interesting features of rock or ice formations can be posted too.

Here's an interesting one. A glacier on Iceland.

Ps. If you get Worldwind (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/) you can see the whole Earth in 3D and you can zoom in on any place. The moon is also included just recently.

this picture shows a geothermical landscape...rex? is that you mate? ha ha hey you two have a lot in common.

shewolf - isn't Avebury close to or 'related to' stonehenge?
sort of like ying & yang or something i've heard.

The Tower Of London was the most moving place i've ever been to so much history!
bear in mind the oldest building in New Zealand is only just over 1 hundred years old.

Really? Where exactly would that be? I've been to the Campi Flegrei (The fire fields) NW of Naples (ie Solvatara), Vesuvius, and the Etna on Sicily. All definitely worth seeing! These are my pictures.

A moment experienced beneath the earth which was beyond the scope of words. The most profound moment I am ever likely to encounter.

The Aggtlek Caves in the Northern region of Hungary,

They are a World Heritage Site.

A shame that this was the best image I was able to find on the web.

Is it just me or do others have a frustrating time attaching images to their posts?

Judging from my previous post one would assume I knew what I was doing but I'm here to tell you that it took about 7 attempts before I finally was able to have the image appear on the page. I did nothing different during those 7 attempts.

Now I have tried over 10 times to post some images from Hawaii to no avail.

What's going on?

Avebury is not that far from Stonehenge but they are not related.
The south, ie Wiltshire area is covered with wonderful stones, barrows, horses etc

Todd The Kiwi

rex - those pics are making me thirsty ha ha

acushla - the 3big pics of rex's and shewolfs are not "attached"
they are linked from/hosted by another site.
but let's not turn this into another "why can't acushla attach images" thread aye ;)
there must be something in the FAQ mate.

I'm guessing that you are referring to having the images hosted by a site like Image Shack.

I have done that but do not understand why I need to do this when I am supposed to be able to attach images directly through QUINTESSENTIAL.

An NBC morning program had a contest amongst engaged couples. A watered down tame version of Survivor-like contest". Slilly games really. Anyway... The public viewing audience voted on everything from "wedding cake" to the "bridesmaids apparel". They also voted for "New Zealand" for the honeymoon. They start off in Auckland.

Berlin, the German Bundestag (or formerly known as the Reichstag). This photo was taken by me in the dome structure of the building.

I see you visited Curry 36 - they really make a good "Currywurst", don't they ?
And the Bundestag - did you wait for one hour as my friend and I did ?
We were pretty lucky, because we somehow managed to take the left entrance (which is for schoolclasses only) and we then got a nice guidance and a lecture and could sit down inside...
The new main station is quite impressive, but also a bit confusing.
I hope you did a Pub Crawl as I suggested !!

WOW
Dubai.
I guess after 911, their tourism dropped like a rock. This was seriously putting billions of dollars at risk. Now it's back. I guess even US soldiers go here for R&R when on leave. Could this be a factor in the involvement of the wars? Nah, I'm just causing trouble again.. sorry.

Judging by these photos, this may be accurate that 15% of the worlds tower cranes are there.
It's the fastest growing City.

Supposedly they're screwing up the ecosystem in the area by adding new land (via sand barging). However, a wonder of it's own.

The second to the last one is a design of the world's continents.

Amazing! I've actually been following the development of Dubai for some years now because of an interest in architecture. They really are going to town. For other smart buildings check out Shanghai. Some incredible things being built there. Also check out Burma's all-new, built from the ground up Capital city. Not many pictures of it yet but it exists. Some stunning monuments being constructed.
