Interesting that there is no media circus in Australia à la Corby. I wonder why..?

Uh...perhaps because he is obviously guilty, by his own admission...and with heroin no less!
I do not like Singapore, I do not like it's policies and as a result I will never visit Singapore.
Singapore have certain policies that most people are aware of...a strict drug policy is at the head of the list. Let's look at the facts:
Nguyen admitted he acted as a drug courier, but only to help his twin brother pay off debts to loan sharks.
I would assume from this he knew what the consequences of his actions were should he be arrested. In my opinion his 'excuse' that he was doing it to help his brother pay off debts brings into question how borderline 'idiot' is he?
``We also have a responsibility to prevent Singapore from becoming a conduit for the trafficking of illicit drugs in the region,'' he said.
Whether anybody agrees with this or not (and there are many who do) it is the law in Singapore. You break the law you pay the price.
Yeo reiterated that Nguyen imported almost 400 grams of pure heroin, which would have supplied more than 26,000 doses to drug addicts.
Obviously he is breaking the law. Duh.
Australia is a fierce opponent of the death penalty, but Singapore mandates the gallows for murder and drug trafficking.
Unfortunately for Nguyen...he was a drug trafficker who never made it to Australia.
I know it will be a long while before anybody else is executed in Singapore because of smuggling drugs. Unless of course they are mentally challenged the way Nguyen obviously was.
