New Skin First Shots

Started working on this earlier today. It's not finished yet, some of the buttons are missing etc hehe, but it's only a first build shot.

First of all, welcome to the forum. Its good to see new members skinning. I have a few q's about this skin. 1 - are you planning on doing anything with all of the empty space? 2 - will the media browser be minimizable or replacable with a visual or library window? i, for one, don't use the gracenote service at all.
keep working at it, and post lots of responses to get more feedback.

Thanks for the welcome :)
The empty space, mainly where you can see the gracenote stuff ATM is going to be all minimisable as soon as I figure out how. I want to use the large area for more stuff, such as playlist, video display, equalizer and maybe more if I think of anything cool enough :knocked-o

Might aswell ask some questions too, someone might be able to help :P
-Is there a Wiki for skins? I looked but couldn't see anything.
-How can I change the browser so it has an address bar? Is that possible?
-How can I get rid of the white edges around the main skin?

No, but there are threads related to skinning. Try a search. I wouldn't know where they are as much as you do. Then there is the skinning manual in the devzone. Read that ;)

I have no idea. Keep experimenting! :) Use the Map Control Color Legend 4.50 in the dev zone.

Just make sure you dont have black pixels there on the map.bmp and that they overlap with whitepixels on body.bmp. By black i mean 0,0,0 for extension 0, etc. Again check the Map Control Color Legend 4.50.

Keep up the good work on the skin. Looks like a quite original design, which is nice IMO.

There's a permanent playlist with scrollbar, playlist controls work, even though one of the buttons is out of place.

In the next version, I hope to add an equaliser :)

I got the inspiration from a hoax I was going to do, but then lost interest.

White borders around playlist scroll buttons are gone.
Playlist mouseover causes fade to invert

Nice, you might also want to make the window resizable. It's not difficult, just check other skins. I do wonder if it'll look good...but try it out anyway :)

Sorry I havn't posted anything for a while. I've had loads of work to do for school, which unfortunately meant that I spent no time atall on the playerskin.
I'll have some progress done by the end of the week, but don't expect miracles, and I have still got loads of work to do >.<
