This is easy, just right click on the player, go to plugins, then to mp3 plugin, and click on configuration and make sure the checkbox for 'deleting stream fragments' is NOT checked. Then go to 'show save tool' and start ripping! (obviously you can only rip when listening to the selected radio station).

I have ripped some very nice music from streams, but with certain stations I lose the first few (vital) seconds of the songs.
What to do?

I don't think there is a way to recover the first seconds of the song if you click on the "record" button when listening to shoutcast after the stream has started playing. The only way around it is to be monitoring the station constantly and delete the files you don't like so it doesn't eats your drive.
Of course if I am wrong, please somebody tell me !

I'm curious how streaming audio really works. For example when i press pause and resume like 5 seconds later it seems that no part of the song is skipped. How can this be? New audio data is constantly being transferred. Moreover, when i lose connection for a few seconds and then the song is rebuffered i still dont seem to lose any part of the song. I confirmed this while saving the stream on my harddisk. Anyone knows how this works? I can only assume that only for small interruptions no part of the song is lost.
