Yup, it's true. In China 4000 year old noodles were found in a ceramic bowl. It is said that this will end for once and for all the debate who invented the noodles first, Arabs or Chinese. I'm not sure to what extent the Italians had a part in this. The noodles are 'grass based' and not wheat based as they are now. The type of grass is indigineous to China.

Were they in a plastic wrapper with a little flavour packet inside? I've heard Ramen lasts forever.

This reminds me of the 4000 year old honey found in an Egyptian tomb. That was edible and tasty.
