Hey guys, check this out: http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi. Here you can create your own nation. I figured that if some of you are interested i can create a region called QCD or whatever, we can still decide on that, and we can all move there.

The game is very interesting in as far politics can be interesting and funny. I just used my nick name as the name of my nation. Join in, it's fun!

EDIT: Here is mine: click (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=rexmundiincarnit)

Actually fleas. Thanks for pointing that out :) Are you going to start a nation? Mine is now also port of the UN. Every week there is a new resolution to vote on. I think this game is great. I once went with my school to the Model United Nations in the Hague and our school represented the Bahamas. We got to do a realtime UN simulation with thousands of other (international) schools in the world, creating resolutions and all and then vote for em. It was quite an experience.

Please note that right now, in the weekend, no laws will be passed. Every weekday your government can take side on an issue and in most cases introduce a new law. This will affect the type and prosperity of your nation. In addition, you can choose to join the United Nations. Every week there will be a new resolution to vote on. Furthermore, if you guys are willing, you can, as a member of the UN, appoint me as the delegate for our region, QCD. That way we will more than double our voting power:

How come some nations get more votes than others?

Regular UN member nations each get one vote. Regional Delegates, however, get an additional vote for every UN member in their region who endorses them. This can makes Delegates from large regions quite powerful.

Delegates also have the unique ability to approve proposals, deciding which of them will become resolutions to be voted on by the entire UN, and which are silently dispatched into the night never to be heard from again. A proposal needs 6% of all Delegates to approve it to become a resolution.

Sweet huh?

Of course if i become a delegate, we will first discuss the resolution at hand and at the end of the week i, as delegate, will vote for or against. (And you will all make your own vote as well.) This is a nice way to keep this forum alive too ;)

Join a biker gang?

You don't have a whole lot of control over the description of your country although you will see it change as you decide issues.

The current UN resolution votinig is quite relevant really.

-A- NOTING that the artistic, cultural and entertainment media industry is a growing sector and is essential to the economic development of our Nations and the happiness of our people,

-B- RECOGNIZING that this industry includes a wide assortment of businesses and individuals that create and produce video, music, graphics, books and various other types of content,

-C- DEFINES a “regional system” as any method to prohibit the transmitting or viewing of media from one region or nation in another region or nation,

-D- NOTING that some regional systems are designed to prevent access to graphic or restricted types of media content in individual nations,

-E- CONVINCED that the universal standards are likely to increase consumer confidence, further adding to the practical and economic viability and success of these standards,

-F- REGRETTING the problems consumers face when using incompatible media formats, and when attempting to transport media from other cultures, which is a barrier to cultural awareness,

-G- REGRETTING that the current restrictions on media use increase piracy and hurts artistic, cultural and entertainment media creation,

-1- URGES all Nations to promote artistic, cultural and entertainment use of media and encourage its development, in particular its online distribution ,

-2- URGES STRONGLY all nations to regulate commercial DRM (Digital Rights Management) systems and duplication protections for commercial media, in order to assure compatibility for customers with most media players,

-3- BANS any "regional system" for commercial DRM’s and for all past, present and future commercial media formats. These formats include but are not limited to:
-Blu-ray disc
-Digital Versatile Disc (DVD)
-High Density Digital Versatile Disc (HD DVD)
-Universal Media Disc (UMD)
-Super Audio CD (SACD)
-DualDisc
-Enhanced Versatile Disc (EVD)
-Holographic Versatile Disc (HDV)

-4-URGES all Nations to uphold legislation against any media sharing, distribution, or reproduction methods which are widely considered piracy,

-5- MANDATES developed nations where companies propose a commercial media support or DRM system standard to regulate the cost of its patent licensing in order to be financially reasonable and available to developing and less economically stable nations.

Which is how you do have control over the description of your country.

Would seem to me there is one hell of a large data base which analyses your response to various issues and then determines how these would be judged in a political context.

Obviously a response of 'kill them all' is going to result in a much different description of your country than 'feed them all'.

Vicious rumours and lies perpetuated by those who seek to divide and destroy the region of QCD. Do not be fooled.

While it is true that we currently have a problem with crime and our Arms Manufacturing Industry is on strike, the children are no different from yours.

As long as they swear allegance to the quintessential media player ;)

And another thing: To endorse me as delegate, you need to do 2 things:

1) Be a member of the UN

2) In the United states activity section on your countries homepage you can endorse me.

It's all in the FAQ. You might actually wish to read it :)

Region hijacking is possible. If we all move to another 'small' sized region, then we effectively take control of that region. No one can kick anyone from a region though, not even the one who created that region.

Rex_Mundi_Incarnit

Just a notification. There is still four of us in the region QCD (Acushla, Jkrzok, Idefixx, and I) and I was wondering if anybody would like to join (again). There have been some changes, the most notable is that every region and nation has power. The longer you remain the greater this power gets. This has been introduced because it is now actually possible to take over other regions, become delegate by rallying support, and wage war against other nations. With enough power and support these enemy nations can be ejected from the region you just invaded. Mouhah ha. So is anyone in?
