This is a screenshot of a little test I have started on skinnable visuals.I'm trying to determine the bitmap size for different number of resonators in which I pretty much have down, but every time I use more than eleven it only shows eleven and the rest aren't there.Iknow you can use up to 120.Does this have to do with my soundcard or a bug?this one is suppose to have 12.

I did one with 13 and only 12 show.So it's not just 11 that show no matter how many I use,but there is always 1 that doesn't.

You should be able to make much more than 12. Did you check the SkinKid.ini file to make sure that the number was increased in there as well? The Resonators are pretty flexible. For the BetaMaxx V2 one I just made it wide enough to fill the screen without any regard to how many columns it had. After the graphics were done, I ended up with 18 columns, so aligned the image for the vis.bmp and made an entry in the skinkid.ini that looks like: vis3mode=MonoResonators,18

All my settings in the ini file are right, and when i tried to do it the way you did the first couple would show perfect and the rest would show only half or so.I can do more than 12 I'm just wondering why 1 is always missing no matter how many I make.

Is it always the second from the last that's missing? If all of the others show up and are the correct width then that indicates that you've got the skinkid.ini setting right. In that case perhaps the problem is with the vis.bmp graphic or maybe the song itself? If you've tried different songs to ensure that the specific frequency is hit but it still doesn't show up, then it seems like maybe a bug or a problem with the vis.bmp. If you send it to me or post it I'll take a look at it - maybe I'll be lucky and figure it out!

It's always second from the last.this is only a little test skin so all of the playing and stopping songs is done with right click menu .It's like that with any song I play.I have the vis mode set to right resonator and it's the same if set to left also.Same way with mono too.

I spent a little while looking at it, but don't know why it's acting like that. My original thought was that the width of the vis section had to be exactly divisible by the number of resonators, so I made that change but it didn't fix it. I also added one to make it 14 resonators, but then after hitting F5 to refresh the 12th and 13th were missing. After a restart then it was the second from the last that was missing again. The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps it's not working correctly because there's so many missing parts that would normally be a a full skin. Just a guess though...

Even on a complete skin it does the same thing.
There is an anomaly in the visualization engine where the n-1'th resonator will fall to zero when using between 11 and 15 resonators (not certain about that range, but close to there). The workaround is to use more or less resonators.

Thanks Paul,now I know why.

Will that ever be fixed??

prizm uses 11 bands and works fine. i used your little test vis there and when i switched to another skin that uses 21 bands, that 12th one wouldnt work in the new skin either. i actually had to close qcd and reopen it to get the vis to work again.
i also find that the overall width of the vis map divided by the number of resonators does not produce the expected results as far as width and placement. i actually end up making the map 5-10 pixels wider to the right than i use for the actual vis display. no big deal, i can compensate.
