1) Save the current view for the media library on close and load it on start. For example, if I'm looking at Megadeth under Track Artists when I close QMP, that view should load up when I start the player the next time.
2) Find in media player function might be more useful if it also opened the artist branch corresponding to it. That's debatable, however.
