well... QCD is still freeware and i'm happy with that...
some other Freeware-programmers do have a
"If ya like this programm, you can donate some money"-Button on there websites...
and as i remember, QCD had this too... some months/years ago...
well...
the programm is freeware
the website and the player is ad-free
the connection/availability to/of the webpage is realy great
hm... i just want to give you sth. back for your great work on the QCD-Player...
if you dont want money( ) maybe you want a Card from my Country/City ?!
so QCD will become a Cardware (like EAC (Exact Audio Copy) (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de)
thats it.. over and out

Paul started writing QCD for personal use, and his philosophy (AFAIK) has remained to think of QCD in that fashion. Hence, I expect the official policy may be to not respond to inquiries such as this. It would be vastly out of character if any offense was intended.

Where is the old forum?
I believe Paul said QCD will always be free and donations will not be accepted. Of course, I can't quote this or even be sure of it as I can't find the old forum.
I thought the old forum was gonna be kept.

I suppose he could make QCD Open Source... ;)

This has been discussed in the old forums. He does not see it necessary to get donations. I doubt he needs them if he is running a site such as this without a single ad.
As for open source...let's not open that can of worms. That was addressed as well in the old forums. I think he might have mentioned it in his interview so if anyone has the link posting it now would be appropriate.

i realy like the attitude of Paul & Matt to keep QCD freeware...
but whats about the CardWare-Idea ?!...
i think, it's the least to send a Card to say "Thx" for the great work on QCD is... IMvHO...
or well... just tell the whole world, that QCD is the best MP3/Music-Player
the set a link on your homepage to QCD... or whatever...

still waiting for any officiall comment from Paul/Matt about the CardWare-Idea... :( Personally I believe they both enjoy the feedback, suggestions and praise they get in this forum. The idea of cardware is nice though but after a few weeks with lots of cards I believe it might become quite tedius.

Well I dunno the policies or previous threads that commented this previously since I am relatively new into this forum. I've used this program since version 2.9 or something, but only lately been into the forum.
I think the cardware thing is a nice idea, but again it's Pauls player and whatever he decides to do with it and if wants his deserved praises / contributions is up to him.
I would send one personally if any of these gets implemented or suggested even.

I have to agree with you, with the user base growing, the forum members growing, and all the reviews from other sites,I think Paul and Matt are pretty happy with the way things are .
I liked the idea of 'cardware'. I am going to put up mailing information in the contact section soon.
I look forward to seeing your post cards. I'll probably make a map to show where cards have been recieved from and give the sender props on a page here on quinnware.com.
edit: address information is up in contact section.
